Looks like Gecco Corp won’t be the only maker of Silent Hill Statues come next year. Japanese toy maker, Medicom Toy, is adding a precision 12″ fully articulated Robbie to their Real Action Hero line!

The RAH Robbie will be released July 2015 for approximately $250 in Japan and comes with a stand, chainsaw and steel. He looks really good from the sample photos I’m definitely going to add him to my own collection 🙂

You can pre-order one from Amiami for around $220

Shots of the Final Version of Gecco’s Robbie the Rabbit Statues

Woo! The Mameryorai Blog has uploaded some shots of the mass production versions of Gecco’s Pink and Blue (Mamegyorai Exclusive) Robbie statues. (According the to blog they will show the Bloodless Souvenir Version at a later date).

I have to say out of all the statues Gecco have produced thus far these Robbies look the closest to their original statue prototypes, don’t you think?

The packaging is gorgeous, I think I like it better than the Heather Box art, I especially love the use of the map as the statue backdrop.

The only small thing that concerns me is the fact there seems to be 3 variations of blood splatter on Robbie’s face. I’m not fond of what I’m dubbing the “Rosy Cheeks” splatter seen in most of the pictures posted… I much prefer the splatter seen in the two Robbie’s in the left of the group picture below. This wouldn’t be an issue if I could pick my statue in person from a store but since I pre-ordered mine from an online shop I’m not sure if I can request to have one version over another.

I’ve been informed that these aren’t variations but in fact comparison shots between the in process statue samples and the final sculpt and paint. I have to admit I’m really disappointed that the “Rosy Cheeks” is what Gecco decided to go with… it looks too symmetrical the first two tries look much better in my opinion 🙁

What do you guys think? Do you have Robbie pre-ordered already from Japan and if so what color? Which blood splatter do you prefer?

If you haven’t been able to pre-order one from Japan don’t worry we will see them (and Heather) for sale domestically sometime later this year.

Gecco Corp Has New Distributors For the Heather and Robbie Statues!

Posted By: Whitney   March 8th, 2014 | 10:06 am

gecco

Now this is some wonderful news to wake up to! I received an email from Gecco Corp informing me that they have nailed down new distributors for their Heather and Robbie statues:

Sorry, it took us long time to announce our new partner to sell Heather & Robbie, which is in Hong Kong, and they’ve already sent the solicitation to the distributors in each country.

Suggested retail price:

    -Heather $138
    -Robbie (pink) $128
    -Robbie (blue) $128

Shipping date from Hong Kong: In the begging of May, 2014

Here is some distributors in each country.

    Diamond Comics Distributors Inc. (USA)
    Kolektakon LLC (USA)
    Abysse Corp (France)
    Fantasiland (Italy)
    HEO GmbH (Germany)
    ILOVETOYZ, INC (Korea)
    The Falcon’s Hangar (Singapore)

Gecco also informed me that most of these guys are closing pre-orders March 10th! So if you are interested in getting these statues contact your local comic shops or online shops to order soon if they are interested in them in time for the May shipment:

We know it’s too short a notice, but most of them will close the pre-order very soon around March 10th, or already closed. We really appreciate it if you could spread the information to your fellows, and we hope they contact their local comic shops or online shops to order soon if they are interested in them. We think many retailers around the world have the information about those statues.

If some local shops don’t have the information, the distributors in each country may help.

Gecco’s Robbie the Rabbit Statues Delayed Until March

Posted By: Whitney   February 10th, 2014 | 11:26 am

robbieheader

According to a blog post on Mamegyorai last Friday Gecco’s Robbie the Rabbit Statues, that were due out later this month, have had their released pushed back until March. I’m guessing that like the Heather statue they saw some things they could improve on in the manufacturing and needed the extra month.

Google Translated: “Production is proceeding the next release , the stanza of Gecco Silent Hill Statue also ” lobby -the- Rabbit ” But , I was in the situation here is also not forced to month postponed to March.”

This delay was also confirmed by Gecco through an email to Silent Hill Paradise and also to myself last night.

Gecco Email: “Last Friday, we announced officially that we postponed the release of Robbie the Rabbit to March, which is the same month as Blue Robbie. We’d appreciate it if you could spread the information.”

It’s sad but I’m all for delays if it means the best product in the end!

How many of you guys have Robbie pre-ordered? If you haven’t yet you can still order one over on AmiAmi:

Order Robbie with exclusive AmiAmi tea bonus for 11,950 JPY

Order Pink Robbie for 10,950 JPY

Red Pyramid Thing and Bubble Head Nurse Figmas are in the works!

Silent Hill 2 Bubble Head Nurse and Red Pyramid Thing Figmas are in the works! A RPT prototype and BHN drawing were shown at the Maxfactory showcase booth at Winter Wonder Festival 2014.

No release dates or prices were given (I would assume it’s sometime this year) but this new line of Silent Hill merchandise has me super excited. I hope they will continue the line and include the protagonists and other creatures from all the games. I don’t know about you guys but I realllllllllly want a Closer or a Twin Victim… it’s always RPT and BHN merchandise.

Pictures of the Final Version of Gecco’s Heather Statue

Posted By: Whitney   January 24th, 2014 | 12:05 pm

Here’s what the final Heather Statue looks like! I have to say it is an improvement from the production sample photos we saw in November but it’s still not as gorgeous as the paint job in the original sample. Though difference is quality between the final product and samples are to be expected. Overall I’m still pleased with the statue though and can’t wait to own her and see the paint job in person.

Gecco & Toymunkey Partnership is Still Terminated

Posted By: Whitney   January 18th, 2014 | 1:09 am

gecco

After months of silence Toymunkey Studios, the former US distributor of Gecco’s Silent Hill themed merchandise, updated their facebook page Thursday afternoon assuring fans open and new orders will be fulfilled or refunded from this point forward:

toymunkey

Additionally, a slew of images of Gecco’s upcoming Heather statue were uploaded but as of Friday afternoon all have been removed from the page. This new activity certainly got fans talking and hopes rose with in the community that maybe Toymunkey and Gecco had worked things out since the termination of their partnership last October.

I sent an email to Gecco asking whether their partnership with Toymunkey was renewed and find out a possible a window fans outside of Japan could expect to see their new merchandise for sale domestically. What I learned however was that Toymunkey’s termination from last October still stands:

SHHS: “Is Toymunkey working with you again to distribute the Heather and Robbie statues and the Gecco products in the US and other countries?”

Gecco:”No, we’ll never ever work with Toymunkey [again]. We are preparing [to sell] our products in the US and other countries with a new partner.”

So as of right now there’s no named distributor for Gecco’s products outside of Japan but Gecco is in the process of forming a new partnership. If you are looking to order the new Heather and Robbie statues you will have to import them from Japan as Toymunkey will not be distributing them.

I’m really confused by Toymunkey’s actions…Was there maybe some sort of miscommunication? I’m not sure what all this means in regards to their promise to fulfill or refund outstanding orders but I will keep you all updated when and if I hear anything more.

Interview with Insert Coin

Insert-Coin-logo_spot

The folks at Insert Coin were kind enough to make time and do a short email interview with me and I got the answers back last week. 🙂

james_jacket

SHHS: The Silent Hill Historical Society and Lakeview Hotel tees have already released so I think the most burning question would have to be when the James Jacket is slated for release and any hints when pre-orders will open? I also saw on twitter that this jacket will have a limited run of only 100 any chance you guys will make another run more if they sell well?

Insert Coin: The Sunderland jacket and Radio Repairs tee are now live – but the initial preorders are already pretty much sold out. All is not lost though, we are definitely making more – this is just the premier run and we know more people will want this. SH fans can expect another run in 2014.

SHHS: So far your newest designs have been primarily inspired by Silent Hill 2, any chance you guys will have designs inspired by any of the other titles? Like maybe a Brahms Police Department shirt or Lakeside Amusement Park gear?

IC: We’re always looking to add new designs, so we’ll almost certainly introduce more from the SH franchise over the next few years.

SHHS: Any chance the Toluca Lake Tourist Info shirt and hoodie will see a re-release or come back in your new line re-designed?

IC: The Lakeview Hotel is the spiritual successor of the original design for Toluca Lake – and we’ll definitely always be inspired by that area.

SHHS: It’s really cool that your newest line is officially licensed by Konami, did they approach you guys to start Silent Hill themed apparel?

IC: We’ve been speaking with Konami for a long time now and we’re proud to be working alongside them on so many great franchise – not just SH, but also Zone of the Enders, Contra, Castlevania and hopefully more in the future too.

SHHS: Do you guys accept fan designs/ideas for new shirts? If so what would be the best way to contact you guys?

IC: We always love hearing from our community on what they’d like to see – through Facebook and Twitter or emails – but our team have normally been working on a project for several months before it’s even mentioned, so they’re usually well and truly on the case.

SHHS: Any chance the Silent Hill line will expand to other accessories: bags, robes etc?

IC: We’re always looking to broaden every range, so it’s entirely possible that other products will launch in the future.

SHHS: Any hints on what sort of Silent Hill gear we can expect in 2014?

IC: Well, we’ll start with the Sunderland jacket and tees – and if they get plenty of support, we’ll definitely be hitting another round of designs very soon.

Check out their entire Silent Hill line!
