On Wednesday we learned that Konami has canceled their Silent Hill HD Collection patch for the Xbox 360. Needless to say customers with Xbox copies were not please but the company has offered a little compensation today. Customers who bought a new copy of the game before August 8th can email Konami’s costumer support with a receipt in order to get a free game get an exchange from a list of selected Konami titles. Today, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that while a PlayStation®3 online title update for Silent Hill HD Collection has been deployed for download via PlayStation®Network, plans for an XBOX®360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources.
Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, KONAMI issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. KONAMI apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the XBOX 360 sku.
Well that was a waste of my money. Thanks Konami. 🙁

According to Tomm Hulett over on the Silent Hill Community forums we can expect a PS3 HD Collection patch tomorrow!
• Improved Framerate
• Voice Synch is greatly improved
• Missing sounds have been fixed
• Missing music has been addressed
• Fog density issues are resolved
• Other minor visual/audio improvements

Now this is VERY GOOD NEWS. I just got this press release that says there are upcoming patches for both HD Collection and Downpour!! The patch will fix the frame rate issues and audio syncs in the HD Collection and the auto save issues is Downpour
There will be patches for both Playsation 3 and Xbox 360 systems!

Today, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that online patches for both Silent Hill Downpour and Silent Hill HD Collection are currently in development and will be released soon.
Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, development teams are currently creating online patches for both games, which will fix the frame rate issues, the audio-synching in Silent Hill HD Collection, and the Auto-Save issues in Silent Hill Downpour. Players have voiced their concerns, and solutions to these issues will be fixed and launched in the coming weeks.
Patches for Silent Hill Downpour and Silent Hill HD Collection will be made available on both XBOX®Live Arcade and PlayStation®Network.

Jon Fabeck let me know that Amazon is having a buy two games get one free deal and both versions of Silent Hill Downpour and the Xbox version the HD Collection is part of the promotion!

I found the Silent Hill HD Collection to be a big disappointment. It is broken, lacks serious polish, and is not the upgrade we were promised. Instead Collection is a major downgrade.
Well this isn’t a surprise. Turns out enough people have complained to Amazon about the quality of the HD Collection that the item is now under review and no longer available for purchase through them. You can still order through their marketplace sellers but I hope this review will help show Konami that this release has major issues that need to be fixed!
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it’s described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

Konami tweeted this afternoon that a patch (over 200mb apparently) was released for the PS3 version of the HD Collection. Hopefully this patch will fix the major issues with the and we will see an Xbox patch soon too!
UPDATE – I’m hearing from PS3 fans that this patch really didn’t fix anything 🙁 What the Hell Konami?!
