2014 is the year of the Silent Hill fan films and here on Silent Hill Historical Society I’m trying to get the scoop on each exciting new production! My first interview is with Alex Slevin of FoG films about his upcoming project, From the Lost Days – Silent Hill 15th Anniversary Film, a live action feature film adapting Silent Hill & Silent Hill 3 video games that’s currently on Kickstarter with a little more than 2 weeks left in its campaign. Fans may remember Alex’s first foray in the Silent Hill fan film territory with his adaption of Silent Hill 2, Broken Notes, back in 2008. Like Broken Notes, From the Lost Days will be shot in Spanish but will be subtitled in English with more language subtitles options hopefully in the future.

The folks at Insert Coin were kind enough to make time and do a short email interview with me and I got the answers back last week. 🙂

SHHS: The Silent Hill Historical Society and Lakeview Hotel tees have already released so I think the most burning question would have to be when the James Jacket is slated for release and any hints when pre-orders will open? I also saw on twitter that this jacket will have a limited run of only 100 any chance you guys will make another run more if they sell well?

Insert Coin: The Sunderland jacket and Radio Repairs tee are now live – but the initial preorders are already pretty much sold out. All is not lost though, we are definitely making more – this is just the premier run and we know more people will want this. SH fans can expect another run in 2014.

SHHS: So far your newest designs have been primarily inspired by Silent Hill 2, any chance you guys will have designs inspired by any of the other titles? Like maybe a Brahms Police Department shirt or Lakeside Amusement Park gear?

IC: We’re always looking to add new designs, so we’ll almost certainly introduce more from the SH franchise over the next few years.

SHHS: Any chance the Toluca Lake Tourist Info shirt and hoodie will see a re-release or come back in your new line re-designed?

IC: The Lakeview Hotel is the spiritual successor of the original design for Toluca Lake – and we’ll definitely always be inspired by that area.

SHHS: It’s really cool that your newest line is officially licensed by Konami, did they approach you guys to start Silent Hill themed apparel?

IC: We’ve been speaking with Konami for a long time now and we’re proud to be working alongside them on so many great franchise – not just SH, but also Zone of the Enders, Contra, Castlevania and hopefully more in the future too.

SHHS: Do you guys accept fan designs/ideas for new shirts? If so what would be the best way to contact you guys?

IC: We always love hearing from our community on what they’d like to see – through Facebook and Twitter or emails – but our team have normally been working on a project for several months before it’s even mentioned, so they’re usually well and truly on the case.

SHHS: Any chance the Silent Hill line will expand to other accessories: bags, robes etc?

IC: We’re always looking to broaden every range, so it’s entirely possible that other products will launch in the future.

SHHS: Any hints on what sort of Silent Hill gear we can expect in 2014?

IC: Well, we’ll start with the Sunderland jacket and tees – and if they get plenty of support, we’ll definitely be hitting another round of designs very soon.

Check out their entire Silent Hill line!
