Gecco’s Red Pyramid Thing with Spear in the flesh!

Posted By: Whitney   November 29th, 2018 | 9:51 pm

Wow.. it’s been two years now but we finally get a peak at the long awaited Red Pyramid Thing with a Spear. Gecco had been working on this guy over three years now and I had lost hope it would ever see release until these pictures from Tokyo Comic Con popped up on my twitter feed! I wonder if we can expect a tentative release date for the US some point soon? It’s really exciting to see pictures of the prototype! I’m really looking forward to adding this bad boy to my collection. What about you guys?

Gecco Releasing Green Robbie Statue March 2016

Posted By: Whitney   December 1st, 2015 | 4:08 pm

Robbie Green (10)

This past April Gecco announced that they had two new Silent Hill statues in the works: Red Pyramid Thing with the Great Spear and another un-named character which turns out is another Robbie this time green!
(nope see update below!)

This new Robbie will release in March 2016 for $150 and will be distribution outside of Japan through D4Toys. Like the other three color variations released in 2014 he will come with a stand, pipe (hmm it’s gold…wonder if the Sewer Fairy gave it to him?) and chainsaw.

While I’m always excited for new Silent Hill merchandise I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed that this new statue is just a fourth Robbie color variation. I was really hoping for another character…. like say another protagonist? Or a different creature? I still reeeeeaaaalllly want a Twin Victim from Silent Hill 4 or a Closer from Silent Hill 3.

What do you guys think? Will you be adding this green Robbie to your collection?

Figure features
The head, arms and legs are covered with flocking. The fur is recreated with the right length of flocking so that it looks and feels exactly like the real costume. The painted blood on the flocking was a real challenge to achieve, but the hard work paid off, making this a truly unique collectible.

A steel pipe is included with the statue allowing the collector to display the statue as he appears in the video game as “Killer Rabbit.”

Also included is the vicious chainsaw weapon, covered with blood as it appeared in “Silent Hill 2” as a secret weapon, with the words “Together we are one” written across the blade.

The base is modeled after “Lakeside Amusement Park” made of wire mesh and steel plate.
Rust and puddles of blood are realistically painted on it.

About Robbie the Rabbit

Robbie the Rabbit is the mascot of “Lakeside Amusement Park” and featured prominently in the world of Silent Hill 3.

When Heather visits the amusement park, she finds the rabbit costumes laying on the ground, their mouths covered in blood. Unsure if someone is inside dead or alive, she approaches with caution.
Robbie also appears in later Silent Hill releases and because of his popularity is not only the mascot of Lakeside Amusement Park but the whole series of Silent Hill as well!

In the bonus movie “兎 usagi” included with the DVD “Lost Memories: THE ART & MUSIC OF SILENT HILL,” multiple Robbies are thrown together in the underground filled with blood, pus and rust.

The green Robbie appears for a few seconds on the elevator going up and down in the underground. The character creator of Robbie the Rabbit, Usagi Tanaka, handled the direction, CG and editing for the short film.

[UPDATE 12/08/2015]
Gecco let me know that this Green Robbie is not the 2nd mysterious statue in the works!

“…By the way the other creature to be release next year we talked about is not this Green Robbie. It is more like creature. Please look forward to the further information.”

Woo I can’t wait! Maybe my dream of a Twin Victim or Closer is still possible? 😀

Gecco: New Silent Hill 2 Statues in the Works [THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE]

Posted By: Whitney   April 1st, 2015 | 8:14 pm

gecco

I received an email earlier this evening from Gecco stating that they are planning on making two new statues based on characters from Silent Hill 2.

“Red Pyramid Thing with the Great Spear” is next in the line with a brand new sculpt ( I hope Headlong will work on the sculpt) and Masahiro Ito will draw the package art once again!

We’d like to inform you that we are working on “Red Pyramid Thing with the Great Spear” as the next character of our SH lineup. There is no images available now, though. It’s going to be 1/6 scale, but totally new sculpt.

Masahiro will specially draw the package art for RPT with the Great Spear again.

Gecco unfortunately didn’t give any more details about the second statue they are planning, just that it’s “one more character from Silent Hill 2, in the same scale.”

Here’s hoping this other statue will be in the human variety! I think a Maria statue would be pretty awesome 🙂 Or maybe one of Angela holding the knife?

It will be a few months before we see a glimpse of anything as they are still working on the statue protoypes. Gecco wasn’t actually planning to announce any this so early but given that their plans leaked on twitter yesterday the company figured they might as well officially announce it!

I know I’m excited to see what they have in store though I have to admit, I was really hoping we would see something from the original Silent Hill or Silent Hill 4 in their line before more from Silent Hill 2. A Silent Hill 4 Twin Victim statue would be seriously awesome to have and given that the original is my favorite entry in the series anything from that game would send me over the moon!

Figma – Silent Hill 2: Red Pyramid Thing Up for Pre-Order at Amiami

Posted By: Whitney   August 28th, 2014 | 10:21 am

The Figma Red Pyramid Thing figure is up for pre-order over on Ami Ami for 3,800 ¥ and a tentative release date of late April 2015.

Silent Hill’s executioner, finally joining the figma series!
From the highly acclaimed horror game ‘SILENT HILL 2’ comes a figma of the famous ‘Red Pyramid Thing’ also known as ‘Pyramid Head’ – easily the most popular monster in the series!

-Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
-A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
-The Pyramid Head’s symbolic ‘Great Knife’ and ‘Spear’ are both included along with a number of hand parts.
-Alternate neck parts are also included to recreate different scenes from the game.
-An articulated figma stand is included, allowing various poses to be taken.

Amiami ships worldwide and you don’t have to put any money down until the product is actually released. I pre-ordered my Gecco Robbie the Rabbit Statue from these guys a few months ago and the whole transaction went very smoothly.

RPT is looking pretty cool, I can’t wait to add him to my own collection 🙂 Anyone else planning getting this little guy?

Interview with Insert Coin

Posted By: Whitney   December 23rd, 2013 | 10:25 am

Insert-Coin-logo_spot

The folks at Insert Coin were kind enough to make time and do a short email interview with me and I got the answers back last week. 🙂

james_jacket

SHHS: The Silent Hill Historical Society and Lakeview Hotel tees have already released so I think the most burning question would have to be when the James Jacket is slated for release and any hints when pre-orders will open? I also saw on twitter that this jacket will have a limited run of only 100 any chance you guys will make another run more if they sell well?

Insert Coin: The Sunderland jacket and Radio Repairs tee are now live – but the initial preorders are already pretty much sold out. All is not lost though, we are definitely making more – this is just the premier run and we know more people will want this. SH fans can expect another run in 2014.

SHHS: So far your newest designs have been primarily inspired by Silent Hill 2, any chance you guys will have designs inspired by any of the other titles? Like maybe a Brahms Police Department shirt or Lakeside Amusement Park gear?

IC: We’re always looking to add new designs, so we’ll almost certainly introduce more from the SH franchise over the next few years.

SHHS: Any chance the Toluca Lake Tourist Info shirt and hoodie will see a re-release or come back in your new line re-designed?

IC: The Lakeview Hotel is the spiritual successor of the original design for Toluca Lake – and we’ll definitely always be inspired by that area.

SHHS: It’s really cool that your newest line is officially licensed by Konami, did they approach you guys to start Silent Hill themed apparel?

IC: We’ve been speaking with Konami for a long time now and we’re proud to be working alongside them on so many great franchise – not just SH, but also Zone of the Enders, Contra, Castlevania and hopefully more in the future too.

SHHS: Do you guys accept fan designs/ideas for new shirts? If so what would be the best way to contact you guys?

IC: We always love hearing from our community on what they’d like to see – through Facebook and Twitter or emails – but our team have normally been working on a project for several months before it’s even mentioned, so they’re usually well and truly on the case.

SHHS: Any chance the Silent Hill line will expand to other accessories: bags, robes etc?

IC: We’re always looking to broaden every range, so it’s entirely possible that other products will launch in the future.

SHHS: Any hints on what sort of Silent Hill gear we can expect in 2014?

IC: Well, we’ll start with the Sunderland jacket and tees – and if they get plenty of support, we’ll definitely be hitting another round of designs very soon.

Check out their entire Silent Hill line!

Gecco Heather and Robbie Box Artwork Revealed!

Posted By: Whitney   December 10th, 2013 | 12:17 pm

Over on the Mameyorai Blog the box artwork for the upcoming Gecco Heather and Robbie statues have been revealed! I really like the designs.

Gecco Heather Packaging

20131210_145226 20131210_145228

For the Heather box it looks like the Halo of the Sun will form the front window which is very reminiscent of the save screen in Silent Hill 3 the box. On the inside display the there is a bloody Seal of Metatron as seen in Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill 3. The back features promotional artwork of Heather in a wheelchair made by Masahiro Ito that has been used in ads for the game in the past and on the side we even get a recreation of one of Stanely’s love notes from Brookhaven Hospital introducing the staff behind the creation of the statue.

Gecco Robbie Packaging

There are three types of Robbie statues being released so there will also be three variations their packaging as well. All the boxes are set up like they are real souvenirs you might find in Sweet Factory Store in the Park! The front of the box features the sign from Lakeside Amusement Park with lights and curtains surrounding the large window. The back shows promotional artwork by Robbie the Rabbit designer, Usagi Tanaka, showing several bloody Robbie mascots in a bathtub.

The Bloodless Souvenir Version of the Robbie Statue, available only through mail over and limited to 300 pieces has packaging that is clean, bright and untouched by the Other World. The Silent Hill 3 and Robbie the Rabbit text is also white on the back artwork.

The normal bloody Pink edition of Robbie the Rabbit has both blood spattering and darkness tinging the outside of the box. The Silent Hill 3 and Robbie the Rabbit text is red on the back artwork.

The Blue version of Robbie the Rabbit only available through the Mamegyorai Store features a heavily rustier and bloody version of the box with a Blue Robbie Head on the front. On the back there’s a Blue Robbie among the mascot group and the Silent Hill 3 and Robbie the Rabbit text is red.

Hobby Search’s Gecco Robbie Statue Product Sample Review

Posted By: Whitney   December 6th, 2013 | 12:15 pm

robbie_header

Hobby Search posted photos and their thoughts on a production sample of the Robbie the Rabbit Statue due out in Japan February 2014.

Looking at the photos Robbie looks a lot closer to what I saw at Comic Con than the Heather statue production photos I shared in November.

He’s looking really good and if you are looking to pre-order a Robbie still he’s still available at Hobby Search on sale for approximately $108!
