IDW’s Silent Hill Downpour Comic all about Anne has a release date!

Well this is some wonderful news! It turns out we will see Anne’s journey through Silent Hill in comic form after all later this year.

During Wondercon 2014 IDW Publishing announced that their upcoming comic lineup includes the Anne prequel comic Tom Waltz teased way back in 2012. This new series will be called Silent Hill Downpour: Anne’s Story and is written by Tom Waltz with interior artwork by Tristan “T-Rex” Jones.

“IDW returns to Konami’s horror masterpiece! In the 2012 hit video game Silent Hill Downpour, players were introduced to Anne Marie Cunningham, the enigmatic prison officer bent on bloody revenge against the game’s main protagonist, Murphy Pendleton. Now, at last, fans can learn what horrors Anne faced during her fateful journey through Silent Hill’s fog-shrouded streets… and what led her to the terrifyingly cursed town in the first place. Written by Tom Waltz (writer of Silent Hill: Sinner’s Reward, Silent Hill: Past Life and the Silent Hill Downpour video game), with artwork by Tristan Jones (Ghostbusters, Hoax Hunters).”

The first issue has been given a tentative August 20, 2014 store release and will retail for $3.99. The comic will feature Anne’s side of the story and according to Tom Waltz:

“The entire story is based on a concept by Tomm Hulett, Devin Shatsky, and myself […] just after the release of the video game”

I am a big fan Waltz’s last Silent Hill comic series, Past Life, released back in 2010. Given that his last series was so good and Waltz also co-wrote the Silent Hill: Downpour, a video game that I also loved, it’s no surprise that right now I have very high hopes that this series will not only be awesome but will make an excellent companion to the game. Also, I don’t know about you guys but I’m still mighty curious what kind of “sick things” Anne had to do to get Murphy transferred to her prison…

Tom Waltz was also kind enough to share some of the different covers which are seen in the gallery below:

The cover featuring Anne’s head cover is by Tristan Jones. The Bogie Man cover is by Justin Randall, who also did variant covers for the Silent Hill: Past Life series. The Anne in the woods with gun cover is by Ilya Kuvshinov. And the full cast cover is by Jose Holder (with colors by Jeremy Colwell).

Silent Hill Downpour Xbox 360 Patch is Out!

Posted By: Whitney   October 23rd, 2012 | 11:05 am

So apparently the Downpour Patch for Xbox 360 is out! Rourke from Rely on Horror stumbled upon it this morning when loading a saved game. I don’t have a press release at this time so I don’t know exactly what the patch fixes. What I do know is that it’s supposed to fix the game’s stuttering, saving, and other side quest glitches. Once I have more information I will update this post 🙂

Update 1

Uh oh…

Uh oh…according to Rourke, the patch has severely messed up his game save. Floating Murphy and a locked door that prevents Murphy from entering the showers, at the start of the game. Anyone else getting the same problem or new ones?

This doesn’t sound good, is anyone else have these sorts of problems after downloading the patch?

Update 2

The Xbox update is also available in Europe.

Source (Rely on Horror) Thanks Cj and Rourke! Also header image stolen from RoH 🙂

Update 3

It’s looking like Rourke is the only one having these issues which may be due to his Xbox dying…

Update 4

Got the press release today (10/25/12)
