The Pyramid Head statue packaging is just as awesome as the statue!

Posted By: Whitney   November 7th, 2012 | 9:22 pm

Sorry I’m playing catch up here with the Silent Hill news XD I posted these pics of the Japanese packaging for the upcoming Pyramid Head statue over on the facebook page last week but neglected to post them here as well!

This packaging features a brand new Pyramid Head painting by Silent Hill 2/3 creature designer Masahiro Ito and it also doubles as a display! This box opens up to display a backdrop featuring infamous 9 save point symbol seen both on the original Japanese Silent Hill 2 cover art and right before the final showdown with the big guy!

I really hope we can get the same packaging here when the statue is released here in the US by Toymunkey!

Toymunkey Painted Bubblehead Nurse Photos

Posted By: Whitney   October 23rd, 2012 | 10:50 am

We finally have pictures of the painted Bubblehead Nurse statue from Toymunkey. As with Pyramid Head the paintjob on this is just wonderful. I particularly love the tiny details of the rust spots on the pipe and the thin veins through the nurse’s pale flesh.

I know I’ll be adding this to my collection! Heck, I might even end up getting a couple down the road to make my own nurse horde!

New Images of Toymunkey Studios’ Upcoming Pyramid Head Statue!

Posted By: Whitney   October 3rd, 2012 | 3:15 pm

Toymunkey Studios just sent me some new pictures of their upcoming Pyramid Head statue along with the vague holiday season release date. He looks fabulous, I look forward to adding him to my collection! 🙂 Are you guys planning on purchasing the statue when it is released at the end of the year?

Toymunkey Studios in collaboration with Gecco Corp is proud to announce a new line of PVC Statues based on the popular Konami video game series and hit movie Franchise Silent Hill 2! First up, Red Pyramid Thing or “Pyramid Head” is a creature derived and manifested from dark self-punishment feelings of the protagonist “James” in Silent Hill 2, and is also based on the executioner in the original Silent Hill. He attacks not only humans, creatures, and anything else that gets in his way with the Great Knife. This vicious executioner from Silent Hill is faithfully recreated as a high quality & huge size figure standing 13 inches in PVC! The pyramid-shaped helmet is sculpted perfectly and is based on the latest model sheet specifics! Holding the Great Knife in his right hand, slaughtering anybody in a single blow with his massive weapon! Lifting a “Lying Figure” in his left hand, it’s a dynamic and sexy depiction! Look forward to this high quality statues available this holiday season!

Toymunkey’s painted Pyramid Head statue is a thing of beauty

Posted By: Whitney   August 4th, 2012 | 5:38 pm

I received quite a surprise in my email inbox this afternoon, a press release and photos from Toymunkey studio regarding their painted Pyramid Head statue:

Toymunkey Studios Silent Hill Red Pyramid Thing Painted!!! / Pending Approval

Toymunkey Studios in collaboration with Gecco Corp is proud to announce a new line of PVC Statues based on the popular Konami video game series and hit movie Franchise Silent Hill 2! First shown in unpainted form at Comicon 2012, this debut release promises to capture all the horror and suspense of the original series. These incredibly detailed prepainted 1/6 scale figures are constructed of durable PVC and are due this Fall/Winter. More products will be shown soon!

Just recently unveiled at Wonder Festival Japan for the first time, the painted RPT is represented in all his horrific glory! These official pictures of the Painted RPT are still PENDING APPROVAL by Licensor and may differ slightly from the final product as the masterful paintwork is complete and is approved. Please stay tuned for more official pictures and approved work in future updates!

Toymunkey Studios….A LVL-UP in Toys!

I was very impressed with the unpainted version of the statue I saw in person at Comic Con and I have to say that the painted version is just glorious! I didn’t think I could get any more excited! Pyramid Head looks like he just stepped out of the game and the details in the paint job is just phenomenal! Look at the rust on the the Great Knife and the blood specks on Pyramid Head’s boots!

Gecco Corp’s paint job is a million times better than the official Konami Style HEADLONG Pyramid Head released just two years ago whose paint job was so uninspired, wash out, flat, and dull. The paint job did not do HEADLONG’s amazing sculpture justice. Just compare the paint jobs on the helmet between Konami Style’s 2010 HEADLONG and this Gecco painted HEADLONG. Gecco’s paint job is in a league of it’s own with the use of variations of red, black and browns used recreate Pyramid Head’s rusted helmet while Konami Style’s is just a dull rust orange. Really the two just can’t compare! I am very, very pleased!

I’m amazed that after all these years we are finally getting some affordable high end Silent Hill collectibles domestically…it’s a dream come true!

I know what I’m asking Santa for Christmas this year! 😉

So what do you guys think? Planning on adding Pyramid Head to your collections?

SDCC: Silent Hill Statues from Toymunkey!

Posted By: Whitney   July 12th, 2012 | 10:38 pm

Hi Guys! I’m actually writing this while at San Diego Comic Con! I didn’t think I would have anything Silent Hill related to report until the Revelation panel on Saturday but I got quite a surprise on the dealer’s room floor this morning. It looks like not only do we have a new movie and a new game to look forward to later this year but also some sweet collector items!

Toymunkey Studios is licensing some gorgeous Silent Hill statues and has made their official launch here at the covention! At their booth they are showcasing two of their unpainted upcoming releases: a Bubblehead Nurse by Shin Tanabe and Red Pyramid Thing by Shinya Akao/HEADLONG.

I have to say the Pyramid Head holding up the Lying Figure is one of the coolest Silent Hill related statues I’ve ever seen. The little details are really incredible I especially love the rough textures on his helmet and apron. I can’t wait to see the completed painted version! I also really liked how the nurse bases connect so you can build up your own scary horde.

According to Scott Sohn, “Top Munkey” at Toymunkey Studios, these figures should be for sale around December this year with an estimated price tag of $150! I was expecting to hear that they would sale them for over $250…like the HEADLONG sculpted official Valtiel and Pyramid Head statues they sold last year in Japan through Konami Style.

I don’t have much information at this time but I have a video interview at the Toymunkey booth planned for this Sunday… so expect some more info and video footage when I get home from San Diego! Until then here’s the company’s statement about these statues from their website. Don’t forget to give their facebook page a like and follow them on twitter:

Konami SH:Homecoming Bogeyman Statue For Pre Order

Posted By: Whitney   April 19th, 2011 | 4:58 pm

There’s an official Konami Style Silent Hill: Homecoming Bogeyman resin statue up for pre-order in Japan (which is a little little strange considering the Homecoming game was never published in that region.) The Bogeyman statue along with the Pyramid Head and Valtiel statues released several months back makes this Konami’s third official Silent Hill monster statue release to date.

According to the Konami Style website, Bogeyman will release on May 5 with a mighty expensive retail price of 29,400 yen (about $357 USD)! For those outside of Japan who wish for a Bogeyman of their very own, no need to fret, he is also up for pre-order over at Mio Boutique but with a bit of a markup for 31,500 yen (about $382). Continue reading to see some more shots of this incredibly detailed statue.
