P.S. Some new screens as well!

P.P.S. According to Tomm there’s a new vocal song “When You’re Gone” I can’t wait to hear it!

Oh and there was a new update made! Think Climax doesn’t care what the fans think? Well you are wrong! 🙂 Looks like Tomm Hulett scopes out the Silent Hill Shattered Memories section on the Silent Hill Heaven forums :

Silent Hill Haunted Attraction Preview

Posted By: Whitney   September 28th, 2009 | 12:20 pm

Theme Park Adventure’s 365 Days of Halloween was able to get a sneak preview of Sinister Pointe’s Silent Hill Haunted House. So far it doesn’t look like there’s anything from Silent Hill Shattered Memories I’m just seeing imagery from Silent Hill Homecoming and the Silent Hill movie!

Something Sinister Comes this Way

By Rick West

“The second maze at Sinister Point is going to be its signature piece… Silent Hill.

Silent Hill, in case you don’t know, is based on both the film and the wildly-popular video games by Konami Digital Entertainment. Trapped in a surreal world of bizarre settings and horrible creatures, guests will find themselves smack-dab in the middle of the Silent Hill world – and then some. If you haven’t yet seen the film, or played the video games, you may want to as “research”, because just about every inch of this maze is straight out of the Silent Hill legacy. I personally have only seen the film, as I suck miserably at video games. But after being walked through this attraction, I would love to sit down in a quiet room with the lights off and play the game non-stop. That is good news for Konami, because I’m sure I won’t be the only person feeling this way.

And for those wondering, yeah, the support that Jeff has gotten from Konami is huge. They are all-in, and that has made Jeff’s life much easier in bringing this maze to life. The synergy is exciting and great for both companies – but trust me when I say that the Silent Hill maze is anything but a blatant commercial for Konami. Silent Hill is a gorgeous, very spooky maze that will no doubt, scare the hell out of visitors.

Expect to see some of your favorite scenes from both the film and the video games as you explore the world of Silent Hill. And yes, guests will come face-to-face with Pyramid Head. In fact, Jeff and his crew have gone to great lengths to bring the world of Silent Hill to life for their guests – and the buzz has been fantastic. There are even Silent Hill fanatics flying in from other states to experience this attraction – that says a lot for the faith that people have in Jeff and it shows how dedicated the Silent Hill fan base is.

Jeff promises terror in abundance, absolute detail to the Silent Hill properties and assures us that you’ll all be shocked by some of the elements they’ve incorporated into this attraction! Theme Park Adventure echoes that statement completely.”

I’m going myself in October so I’ll be sure to let you know what I think as a Silent Hill fan 🙂

Will there be a “Making of” Silent Hill: Shattered Memories?

Posted By: Whitney   September 22nd, 2009 | 8:01 pm

Okay this is technically old News from July ’09… but it’s new to me!

I just came across a video showing a clip taken by a fan at Mary McGlynn 2009 Otakon panel (which you can read more about here) where she speaks a little about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Along with re recording some old silent hill songs they also filmed some “behind the scenes” stuff as well! I hope this means that there’s a “Making of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories” I wonder if that will be on the bonus soundtrack from Gamestop?

And a bonus! the fan also recorded Mary answering “What’s your favorite Silent Hill song”

Konami Holiday Preview ’09 : New Silent Hill Shattered Memories interview!

Posted By: Whitney   September 8th, 2009 | 10:32 pm

Gamervision did an quick video interview with Brandon Cox, Senior PR Manager over at Konami, about the upcoming Silent Hill Shattered Memories Game!

Gamervision Blog Article with a HD quality video

“Konami is taking Silent Hill fans on a trip down memory lane…with a few tw(ii)eaks. Get it? It’s coming out on the Wii and I put the i’s in there.

Brandon Cox will have you know that this game does indeed use both the Wii remote and nunchuck, that the game has been completely redesigned, and that you may possibly pee your pants multiple times throughout the course of gameplay. It’s a new tactile feature they are trying out. Dry-cleaning not included.”

Things to take note of!

– I like the tune in the beginning I wonder if it’s going to be in the game? The opening notes actually reminded me of Bolero from the Moulin Rouge closing credits Actually now that I listened to it again I think it sounds more like My Chemical Romance’s song “Romance” from their I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love cd.

– Lulz at the “Akira Yamamoto” poor guy, it’s surprising someone from Konami’s PR would make a mistake like that in an interview… I know some Silent Hill fans will have his head for that!

– Brandon states the game will come out in Oct…does that mean the Nov date on Gamestop is wrong? I hope so I really want to play the game!

Silent Hill Haunted Attraction

Posted By: Whitney   September 8th, 2009 | 9:38 pm

I got this postcard advertising a Silent Hill themed maze in October from some employees working the Konami booth at Comic Con ’09.  At the time I didn’t think much of the Silent Hill logo used since a nurse from Silent Hill Homecoming graces the front. However after taking a second look the other day I noticed it used the “Silent Hill”  from the final Shattered Memories logo! This makes me wonder… does Konami plan to do any sort of Shattered Memories promotion in or around the maze? If so that would be awesome!

Mary Elizabeth McGynn Discusses her role in Silent Hill Shattered Memories at Otakon 2009!

Posted By: Whitney   September 8th, 2009 | 9:21 pm

Last July Mary Elizabeth was a guest of honors and had her very own panel! I wish I could have been there (she needs to come to Fanime or Comic Con!) but luckily I was able to find a great write up with pictures of  her awesome panel by Serdar Yegulalp at Advance Media Nework Anime website 🙂 You can read the entire article here:

Otakon 2009: Mary Elizabeth McGlynn: Jill Of All Trades

http://anime.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=5557

Here are her quotes regarding the Silent Hill series and Silent Hill Shattered Memories:

Silent Hil fans also got another major boost: “I got to be a codirector on the next Silent Hill game. For the Wii, no less. It’s really gonna rock. I’ve been doing the songs for the series (there’s four more in the next game!) and you might want to preorder that one ‘cos there’s going to be some one of a kind bonus stuff I can’t tell you about.” (Anime fans quickly grow inured to, and twice as quickly learn to tell the difference between, “I can’t tell you” and “We have no plans at this time”.) “We’ll be recording it all in just a couple of weeks, and this is the first time we’ve done anything like this.

Now that we know the bonus is a soundtrack cd I’m wondering if some older Silent Hill tunes were re recorded?

Based on a quick show of hands, there were at least as many Silent Hill fans as there were GITS fans, so it came as little surprise that many questions revolved around everyone’s favorite Pyramid Head Franchise. One question — what were her favorite songs from the games? — evoked an interesting response: “We actually don’t know what the song titles are when we do them! But my favorite of the bunch — well, without knowing the title, it’s the one that goes ‘Here’s a lullaby to close your eyes –” and with that a good chunk of the (female) audience sang right along to great applause. Ditto when she crooned “Stare at the walls, they make fun of me”. (MEMO TO FUTURE CONVENTION ORGANIZERS: A panel of nothing but Mrs. McGlynn doing karaoke sing-offs of Silent Hill tunes would be a sell-out.)

As enthusiastic as she is about music — she was, by her own admission, a Band Brat in high school — she doesn’t do as much singing as you might imagine. There was talk of recording her own album but it never materialized, but: “What I’d live to do is talk to Akira [Yamaoka, the composer[ and release the best of the songs from that game, enough for a full album. It’s weird because right after I did the Silent Hill stuff I did a demo for a children’s audio book named ‘My Little Tree Frog’ and I kept thinking about that stuff done in the SH manner. ‘IT’S A TREEE FROOOOG!!'” (Cue audience convulsions.)”
