Kotaku.com was kind enough to post screens of Konami’s lastes issue of On Screen their internal company magazine. Overall the magazine gives a look at this years games but what I feel is the most worthy bit is the Silent Hill spread!
Overall the text is a typical marketing copy highlighting whatplayers can expect from the story and gameplay. I thought the last page was a little odd going over fear…but hey they suggest a good way of facing your fears is playing Silent Hill 🙂
I love the graphic design and many fans seem quite enamored with that couch picture. Where was this art direction while they were designing the US game cover?
Hey everyone!
Klimat from the Silent Hill Heaven forums pointed out some really cool Silent Hill Shattered Memories renders! Also am I the only one who think that Cybil looks a lot like Olivia Benson from Law and Order: Special Victims Unit?
Two more walkthroughs by IGN playing the exact same sequence of events. Gives you a scope at how different everyone’s playthrough will be I can’t wait!
Playthrough 1
In this playthrough Harry seems to have a drinking problem with all the alcohol imagery and references going on..plus he meets a bartender. Here are some other noticeable differences:
– I like those gas prices!
– The answering machine in Theresa’s shop plays a different message, this one is an employee speaking to Theresa and commenting that a spacey woman sold them a dress…probably for “booze”
– The key is hidden in green cans…possibly Heineken?
-Diner is closed and the bar is open
Playthrough 2
In this playthrough Harry is more intent of finding Cheryl and even makes several comments to items that could be or look like hers. Harry seems to move purposefully through the area and there are a lot less alcohol references than in the first playthrough. Here are some other noticeable differences:
– Gas prices are still nice
– The answering machine in Theresa’s shop plays a message from a daughter to her mother, possibly Theresa explaining how she’s closing up and a little distracted from a sad woman selling her their dress with ehr husband waiting outside.
– Bar is closed and the diner is open. Harry meets a professional very friendly Cybil.
A NEW trailer
What New?
– Mary Elizabeth McGlynn doesn’t sing in this trailer, hey maybe we even get a different soundtrack based on how we play!
– I spy a nurse in pink scrubs!! I think it’s Lisa whoohoo!
– Harry speaks to a bartender instead of Cybil about his missing daughter
– Dahlia Gillespie (?) still sports a young look but now she sports brunette hair and purple threads.
Lisa Garland?
Konami officially unveiled a new logo and screen shots from Silent Hill Shattered Memories:
Personally I think it’s a big improvement the old logo looked too amaturish to me and the newer logo looks a lot more polished.
As for the screenshots the game is looking good, but man doesn’t Harry look psycho in his driver’s license photo? He looks like he’s about to deck the poor DMV photographer.
Check out the boxart! Not sure if I’m that keen on it though… I like the concept and a frozen Cheryl is pretty creepy but I wish the execution was a little tighter. Right now it seems like Cheryl is sitting on a swing that’s floating in mid air. Even with my nitpicking I still think it’s loads better than the US SH4 boxart I hated that screaming ghost it looked so cheesy! 🙂
Like Silent Hill Heaven helldescent.com was able to send questions from their forum members over to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Producer Tomm Hulett and even Director, Mark Simmons!
Apparently I missed out trying Silent Hill Shattered Memories while attending Comic Con because some cam videos from Comic Con were posted on Gametrailers. I wish I could have played the demo! The clerks at the Konami booth told me they didn’t bring any demos to the show 🙁 I wonder what booth these were from?
