Dead Pixels Exclusive: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Interview Part 1!

Dead Pixel’s has part one of their two part interview with Tomm Hulett up with some new tidbits of information! To read the full interview go here:

http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/videogames/581/

According to Tomm we will get a full Shattered Memories Soundtrack if we pre order the game! Does this mean we can expect a soundtrack like the one included in SH3 or as a bonus like SH4 just with extra re recorded SH tunes from previous games? I hope so, I would really want all the songs from Shattered Memories!

The pysch profile in the game is supposed to alter the game to how you
play…is this just in the beginning of the game or is it throughout the
game? Could you give some examples.

TH – The Psych Profile is constantly evolving the game based on who you are. The game is constantly gathering data from your actions and learning more about you. This effect lasts the entire game. This isn’t something you’ve seen in other games where you can take the good or evil path; the psych profile is based on actual psychological principles, so it can judge how outgoing you are, whether you’re an introvert, etc etc.

For fans of the series, will there be any nods or easter eggs in the
game for loyal players?

TH – Of course, though a lot of them are very subtle. Fans will have to be very observant.

Will there be a completely new score for the games music? Or just the
original?

TH – Akira Yamaoka (who has created the music for every Silent Hill) has created an all new score for Shattered Memories. People who pre-order the game at participating retailers will receive a full Soundtrack CD, in fact.

Will there be a “Making of” Silent Hill: Shattered Memories?

Posted By: Whitney   September 22nd, 2009 | 8:01 pm

Okay this is technically old News from July ’09… but it’s new to me!

I just came across a video showing a clip taken by a fan at Mary McGlynn 2009 Otakon panel (which you can read more about here) where she speaks a little about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Along with re recording some old silent hill songs they also filmed some “behind the scenes” stuff as well! I hope this means that there’s a “Making of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories” I wonder if that will be on the bonus soundtrack from Gamestop?

And a bonus! the fan also recorded Mary answering “What’s your favorite Silent Hill song”

Make sure to put a pre-order in now as the game is set to launch November 3, 2009.” So it looks like this soundtrack will be a mix of old and new! ESRB rates Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Posted By: Whitney   September 13th, 2009 | 10:54 am

Well it’s official Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is an official a “Mature 17+” game! We all expected the rating but what is neat is that in ESRB’s ratings summary we learn a couple new tidbits about the game:

– Harry explores a high school

– Many have been worried about the lack of “rust and blood” but it looks like we will still see some gruesome scenes like human and animal corpses and areas splattered with blood.

– Game contains a lot of sexual references in dialouge, in game posters/calendars and mannequins in sexually suggestive positions.

Here’s the full summary:

RATING INFORMATION

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Platform: PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii

Rating: Mature

Content descriptors: Blood, Drug Reference, Language, Sexual Themes, Violence

Rating summary: This is a survival horror game in which players assume the role of Harry Mason as he searches for his missing daughter after a car crash. Players explore a mysterious town, investigate clues and objects, solve various puzzles, and interact with the world using their in-game cell phone. Some voicemail/text messages received on the phone contain references to violence, including an onlooker’s vivid description of a stabbing. Players can also take pictures with their cell phone, one of which reveals the corpse of a teenager who hanged himself. Large streaks of blood are sometimes depicted on floors and walls; blood is also visible around animal and human corpses. Throughout the game, players will encounter suggestive posters/calendars/objects featuring scantily clad women. The most pertinent examples include: a poster advertising a pornographic film called Young Flesh 2 (with blacked-out nudity); portraits of women who work in a brothel; mannequins arranged in sexually suggestive positions; and rude bathroom graffiti (e.g., “Cheerleader Wh*re”). Players can also visit a psychiatrist who sometimes discusses sexual issues (e.g., “All this talking and we still haven’t touched on this sex thing” and “You want to die having sex.”). As players explore an abandoned high school, they may encounter a poster for drug awareness that contain images of marijuana leaves, crack, and cocaine. Profanity (e.g., “sh*t” and “a*shole”) can sometimes be heard in the dialogue.

Konami Holiday Preview ’09 : New Silent Hill Shattered Memories interview!

Posted By: Whitney   September 8th, 2009 | 10:32 pm

Gamervision did an quick video interview with Brandon Cox, Senior PR Manager over at Konami, about the upcoming Silent Hill Shattered Memories Game!

Gamervision Blog Article with a HD quality video

“Konami is taking Silent Hill fans on a trip down memory lane…with a few tw(ii)eaks. Get it? It’s coming out on the Wii and I put the i’s in there.

Brandon Cox will have you know that this game does indeed use both the Wii remote and nunchuck, that the game has been completely redesigned, and that you may possibly pee your pants multiple times throughout the course of gameplay. It’s a new tactile feature they are trying out. Dry-cleaning not included.”

Things to take note of!

– I like the tune in the beginning I wonder if it’s going to be in the game? The opening notes actually reminded me of Bolero from the Moulin Rouge closing credits Actually now that I listened to it again I think it sounds more like My Chemical Romance’s song “Romance” from their I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love cd.

– Lulz at the “Akira Yamamoto” poor guy, it’s surprising someone from Konami’s PR would make a mistake like that in an interview… I know some Silent Hill fans will have his head for that!

– Brandon states the game will come out in Oct…does that mean the Nov date on Gamestop is wrong? I hope so I really want to play the game!
