A representative from the studio informed Silent Hill Haven that what they posted months ago about Silent Hill (2006) creature designer, Patrick Tatopoulos, is actually only partially true.
Anonymous asked: HI, I would like to correct a statement I read earlier on you awesome site. My company, Paul Jones Effects Studio is actually responsible for all the design and creation of the makeup and creature FX in the new Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. Patrick Tatopoulos is only responsible for some initial concept design of one of the creatures in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, that is all. I was responsible for all onset supervision and creation of a portion of the FX on the original movie also.
So Tatopoulos is only doing some concept work but don’t fear the Paul Jones studio had also worked on Silent Hill (2006) movie too.
UPDATE: Nope, it’s not it’s an PS3 exclusive according to Konami it’s an error on the Gamestop website.
According to Gamestop’s website that seems to be the case as you can pre order the collection for Xbox 360. Konami has said for weeks that this is a Playstation 3 exclusive so I’m wondering if this was posted in error. Hopefully this isn’t the case and Konami has had decided to release the collection on both systems. I will make some inquiries to find out!
Looks like the trailer Twin Perfect received from a fan attending Comic Con and uploaded the other day to their youtube channel is not a real Silent Hill HD collection trailer. I received an email this evening from Konami Public Relations which says that the cam trailer in question is “false content that is being portrayed as a real trailer distributed by Konami” and that no Silent Hill trailers were distributed during Comic Con 2011. So it looks like this was a fan made trailer using PC versions of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 with the HD Collection logo added at the end. I have to say this is very disappointing. 🙁
I was under the impression that the film would be out Spring next year like Silent Hill (2006) but it looks like Revelation will be out in the summer. This is both a little sad and awesome, sad since we will have to wait longer to see it but awesome because maybe it means the studio thinks it’s worthy of going against other summer blockbusters!
I know there’s people out that claiming how this collection isn’t necessary because the PC versions already look fabulous but I think many are forgetting just how buggy the PC port of the game is and just how pixelated the PS2 versions of both game look now on a HD televisions. I recently finished a SH2 playthrough and I’m playing through SH3 right now and I have to say both games don’t look so hot on my HD television…So if you already own and play the PC versions this collection may not be worth the $30 but if you are like me, a console gamer, and want to see a sharper Silent Hill 2 and 3 this collection is definitely worth a purchase! Check out this video comparing the screens from a PS2 version of Silent Hill with the HD Collection screens….what an improvement!

This footage comes from the folks over at Twin Perfect, who are responsible for the Real Silent Hill Experience! A fan attending Comic Con sent it to them 🙂 I hope Konami releases the trailer soon I would love to take a closer look!
Konami has added some new Downpour screens to their download site. Some look amazing while others…er not so much. Not sure if some are really “finals” since some of the graphics are looking very jagged and low res. Is it just me? What do you guys think?
Konami has released two screens and a logo for their upcoming HD collection. I was hoping for a little more but I’ll take what I can get!
I can definitely tell there’s more detail in James’ character model but the textures still look fuzzy to me (it could also be the grain filter) what do you guys think? I’m still curious to see what Silent Hill 3 will look like!
Unfortunately I won’t be attending Comic Con this year but at least I can follow the news on their Comic Con newsfeed! If you are attending don’t forget to check out the Silent Hill Downpour demo over at the Konami booth and their costume contest on Saturday!
