The awesome Piece0fSheet666 tracked down the pictures initial source, a concept artist Joy Lee who I assumed worked on the 2006 PSP title Silent Hill Experience!

According to google alerts and a recent topic started by Jecht, a Silent Hill Heaven forum member, two bloggers claim to know which monsters and characters are making a reappearance in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. After taking a quick peek I was highly suspicious of their information since many character art and cgi from the original game are primarily shown…however there was something that did pique my interest:

Could this really be Alessa from SH:SM? The pose on the swing is reminiscent to the Cheryl on a swing picture…but so far it’s only appeared on these two blog sites so it could just be fan art.

What do you guys think?

According to Gamestop.com and Nintendo.com the wii version of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has a ship date of 12/08/09; however, if you order the PS2 or PSP version on Gamestop.com and place them in your shopping cart the ship date changes to 1/12/10. Sadly there’s still no word from Konami but I’m guessing it doesn’t look good for an ’09 release of the game here in the states..unless Konami plans to sell the wii version a month or so before the other two 🙁

I know this is pretty late but I only now really had the time to post this! Last Thursday the Official Silent Hill: Shattered Memories blog had a new update from James Sharman the Technical Lead Programmer on Shattered Memories. In the latest post programming aspect of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was discussed including the lighting engine and some of the difficulties faced programing all the with the streaming levels. 🙂 Go check it out and make sure to leave a comment or two!

Still no official word from Konami but nintendo.com lists December 8, 2009 at the wii release date for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories!

Just a small update, I received my TGS 2009 Silent Hill: Shattered Memories flyer this morning and scanned it in.

It’s Tuesday and you know what that means…another production blog update on the Official Silent Hill: Shattered Memories blog! In the latest entry Tomm discusses the various challenges in creating similar game experience across three different platforms: Wii, PSP and PS2…especially a game with no loading screens! Not being a technical person myself I found it interesting to read what sort of difficulties the programmers run into! Be sure to check it out 🙂

Remember a couple weeks ago I mentioned a sweepstakes Gamesradar was holding where you could win an Xbox 360 and copy of Konami’s Silent Hill Shattered Memories or Saw videogames? Well on my lunch break today I picked up the latest Official Xbox magazine for their Assassin’s Creed 2 coverage (I super excited for this as well!) and I was surprised to find a print ad for the Gamesradar contest! The ad states Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will be out this November but I highly doubt that will really be the case. From my own experience as a graphic designer I know magazine ads are often submitted weeks and sometimes months before they are even printed so I have a feeling this ad was submitted way before the recently announced game delay.

This is sort of old! I thought I posted about this before but while looking through my archives I noticed I hadn’t! So sorry 🙂 Earlier this month Retronauts did a podcast with Tomm Hulett as a special guest and several Konami titles were discussed including Rocket Knight, Contra and Silent Hill. It’s a great listen with some neat new facts about the games! The Silent Hill section is during the last third of the podcast and starts about an hour or so in.

According to gonintendo we now have a different PAL art for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

I still like the one eyed Harry better, oh well at least it’s not cluttering the front with E3 awards like the NSTC cover
