Possible Alessa Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Character artwork? [Edit: it’s not!]

The awesome Piece0fSheet666 tracked down the pictures initial source, a concept artist Joy Lee who I assumed worked on the 2006 PSP title Silent Hill Experience!

According to google alerts and a recent topic started by Jecht, a Silent Hill Heaven forum member, two bloggers claim to know which monsters and characters are making a reappearance in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. After taking a quick peek I was highly suspicious of their information since many character art and cgi from the original game are primarily shown…however there was something that did pique my interest:
Could this really be Alessa from SH:SM? The pose on the swing is reminiscent to the Cheryl on a swing picture…but so far it’s only appeared on these two blog sites so it could just be fan art.
What do you guys think?
The list is an obvious fake. The art doesn’t look quite legitimate too, though I may concede it is official.
I agree that it must be fan art/fake/random for 4 reasons:
1) Some character artwork has already been shown for quite some time now and this wasn’t in any of the pictures.
2) If it was an official character/picture/whatever update it would probably have already been shown at gaming sites like IGN which featured at updates all new screenshots and pictures on the same day they were released/taken. I checked some and they mention nothing.
3) From a quick search at Google I found a blog that is made by a concept artist* and it looks like this picture is a fan-made drawing for the “Silent Hill Experience”. That picture is there since at least February 2008[!] It could even be included in the artwork of the actual UMD but I haven’t seen it so I can’t know. 4) The blog talks about character confirmations and not about their artwork/photos/renders and stuff and they could just have put photos for illustration purposes (the ones that existed and random for everything else[Alessa/monsters]?). Also, all pictures look like comics renders and their source appears to be the same (maybe some official artwork, like in “SH Experience”) or even some fan made collection. Plus, how could they know what will be in the game.
Finally, since it’s a continuation of the first game I think anyone can guess what is likely to be in it. The devs have officially said there will be returning characters and also new ones (I don’t see any new ones in the list?). Also, the monster list looks pretty stupid to me considering the SHSM experience and monsters are supposed to be tailored for each individual separately (look different/evolve for each person separately and not be premade). The monsters were standard size/appearance/whatever in the first game but they are not supposed to be like that in this one… I think there will be returning characters but not “returning monsters”, that list is a copy of almost all monsters in the first game. I can’t picture them looking like that running after you and be premade – it’s just not SHSM as it’s been described/shown ’till now.

I couldn’t help but laugh. Besides a few images and the interview(Which I doubting whether they watched) these bloggers don’t seem to have looked into the game at all. I think they just heard that it was based on the original game (I doubt the writer/s know it’s a re-imagining) so they took a bunch of pictures from the first game and said they’re all in this one, besides Harry, Cybil & Cheryl.
They didn’t even include the Raw Shocks in the list despite it being in the image they provided.
So I’m going to assume the Alessa art is fanart, I doubt these bloggers could get content we haven’t seen before when everything else seems wrong.

I had a feeling it wasn’t real SH:SM character artwork considering all the other older artwork used…but I couldn’t place it wanted to get everyone else’s thoughts 😀 Btw I’m not sure why it was holding this for my approval? Usually once I initially approve you you can post comments immediately. I guess I need to adjust my settings again?

Thanks, I’m glad I did something to clear it out. It looks like those bloggers didn’t have a clue what they were writing about and the post was too biased and uninformed. Also, if you see the SH Experience was released as a promotional item for the SH movie and probably that’s the reason why this Alessa looks so much alike the one in the movie. Even if only the trailer was in the UMD, still it shows dark Alessa and you could easily see and draw her from there. Plus, since the pic is from 2008 the artist could have also watched the whole movie. (See also how in the fan art Alessa has blue eyes. :D) You can also see the classroom in the trailer which is also in the fan artworks. Enough said, I stop here=]
