Posted By: Whitney   February 3rd, 2012 | 7:35 pm

Dread Central received a press release from Konami that confirms that the Korn theme, named “Silent Hill”, will be included on the Downpour game soundtrack from Milan Records.

The soundtrack is available March 13, 2012, on Milan Records, featuring the game’s theme “Silent Hill” by Jonathan Davis, front-man of nu metal band Korn, and score by Daniel Licht. Licht is best known for his scores to every “Dexter” episode.

Details of the Downpour Soundtrack Emerge from Dan Licht

Posted By: Whitney   January 17th, 2012 | 10:28 am

Cj of Rely on Horror got into contact with Dan Licht about the Downpour soundtrack and he gave some interesting tidbits

After the Amazon listing for the Silent Hill Downpour OST appeared on the site without many details, I sent composer Dan Licht an email asking if he can elaborate some more on what can be expected from this soundtrack.

Dan stated there will be “about 18 tracks” and it will be “about an hour long”. The OST will be sold by Milian Records.

Woo! Another hour of Silent Hill music to add to my iPod. I can’t wait!

Downpour Soundtrack up for Pre-Order on Amazon

Posted By: Whitney   January 16th, 2012 | 10:08 am

Looks like you can pre-order the Downpour game soundtrack over on Amazon for $15…I’m a little disappointed since I was hoping it would be included as a pre-order bonus somewhere but at least we know we can get our hands on it! I’ve got mine pre-ordered!

(Rumor) Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in Downpour? UPDATE

Posted By: Whitney   June 7th, 2011 | 11:12 pm

Site affiliate Helldescent.com was informed by one of the Downpour producers that there are plans for Mary Elizabeth McGlynn to collaborate for a track on the soundtrack! For those who don’t know who she is, Mary has provided vocals for the Silent 3-Shattered Memories soundtracks. Personally, I think this is excellent news, as I’ve loved all her vocal tracks in the past so I’m excited to see what she makes with Daniel Licht. Even with Akira gone at least with Mary there’s a chance there may still be a little “old school” Silent Hill sound in the new soundtrack.

UPDATE: Eddie Lehecka aka Mr. Ultimate Konami Fan who attended the VIP Press Conference just posted this bit of news on my facebook wall in response to my new post above:

I can’t speak for downpour, but during the VIP press session the 2 guys on stage for Downpour did say that they recorded new voice overs for the Silent Hill HD collection and she’s definitely in those.

This is excellent! You guys think she re recorded some of her SH3 tunes? Also, if they recorded new voice overs do you think this is why Konami contacted Guy Cihi months ago regarding Silent Hill 2?

No Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in Silent Hill 8?

Posted By: Whitney   June 23rd, 2010 | 10:31 am

Ashley on the Silent Hill Community posted last night that this seems to be the case. According to a message from Mary herself on her Facebook fan page:

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn Facebook Fan page

“Hey Gang. No, as far as I know, I will not be in Silent Hill 8. But… I am doing new stuff with Akira, which for me is even better! I’ll keep you updated as we get closer to release dates of the projects. The stuff we’re doing may be my favorite songs yet. This one in particular… 😉 Thanks!”

So even though she’s not involved with Silent Hill 8 we can expect something new from her and Akira soon. I look forward to hearing it 🙂

We’ve confirmed that Akira Yamaoka is gone, and while we’re all still wondering what will become of the Silent Hill series in his absence, Konami has generously sent us extra copies of the Silent Hill: Shattered Memories soundtrack to give away to you guys. As this will be the final Silent Hill soundtrack he writes as an employee of Konami, we thought it’d be a good time to reflect upon the Silent Hill franchise and what’s next in terms of the series in general and, more specifically, the direction of the game’s audio in the future.

We’re going to make this one easy and simply require that you comment on this post with your thoughts and predictions to enter. Just make it something thoughtful and more substantial than a few sentences. We’ll continue taking entries until December 21, 2009 at 11:59 PM PST, at which point we’ll pick two winners to receive a copy of the snazzy pre-order bonus. We’re looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
