Silent Hill Revelation One Sheet Revealed

Posted By: Whitney   September 6th, 2012 | 11:10 am

According to the Official Silent Hill Revelation FB Page this is the first one-sheet for the movie.

Well I’m disappointed that the marketing is focusing on Pyramid Head. I would have much rather seen Heather or Claudia 🙁 I hope they come out with additional posters with different characters.

Officially announced during the Silent Hill Revelation Panel at Comic Con 2012 a Silent Hill maze will be featured in Halloween Horror Nights at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort!

Halloween Horror Nights is a month long event held every year at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando. The seasonal event will feature a series of themed creepy haunted mazes and are wildly popular. Past themes had included horror movies like Scream, The Thing, Saw, Friday The 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare On Elm Street, House of 1,000 Corpses and Hostel.

The Silent Hill attraction this year is the first time Universal has chosen a video game as the source and will be used to promote both the October releases of the upcoming Vita game, Silent Hill: Book Of Memories, as well as the movie Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

You can watch the announcement video below!

I know what I’m going to do this October! Will any of you guys be checking this out?

Downpour Promotion in Mexico is Going Strong

Posted By: Whitney   March 3rd, 2012 | 10:40 pm

About a week until Downpour’s release here in the States and there hasn’t been much of any promotion for the game (well there are a few flash ad banners up at IGN now).

It’s rather disappointing, in fact many fans believe Konami failure to do any sort of promotion will lead to Downpour being a commercial flop. Which is a real shame 🙁

With that said I’m pretty jealous of the hype building in Mexico for Downpour’s release! Right now Mexican game retailer Game Planet is hosting a big Silent Hill shindig in celebration of Downpour’s release! They are giving away 20 passes to a screening of the 2006 Silent Hill movie at Coyote Autocinema (with free popcorn and drinks!) with a chance to win a Playstation Vita and Book of Memories for the best Silent Hill costume!

All you need to do is pre-order Downpour, like Game Planet of Facebook, follow them on twitter and answer three easy trivia questions… though the third one is not a real SILENT HILL trivia question!

The third trivia question asks what real life town was inspiration for Silent Hill. The movie version of Silent Hill was based off Centralia, Pennsylvaia which I believe is the answer they are looking for…HOWEVER if we are referring to the games Silent Hill was not based on a real town. Well if you want to get technical the look of the town in Silent Hill 2 and 3 was modeled off of real streets and shops from Bruno, CA and there’s a real Lake Toluca in Southern California…so I guess that counts? But I doubt Game Planet is looking for that answer!

Anyway! If you live in Mexico and want to get in on this awesome promotion you got to get a move on! Deadline for entries is March 9th! Also if any of you guys go I would love to hear how it went!

Welcome to Silent Hill. Silent Hill Downpour

Do you have what it takes to survive a night in the most infamous town in the world?

Gameplanet and Konami have 20 passes for a showing of the Silent Hill movie in the Coyote Autocinema this Tuesday March 13th! Take part of it!

-Name of the most famous lake in Silent Hill (Whitney – A: Lake Toluca)

-Name of the real town Silent Hill was based on. (Whitney- ugh…I think they are looking for A: Centralia, PA)

The first 20 to send the email with all the requirements and the correct answers will receive an email with the instructions on how to claim your pass.

-Each pass includes entry for one car and two combo orders of popcorn and pop.

-Deadline is March 9th at 2 pm.

Check out the EU Display Only Cases for HD Collection and Downpour

Posted By: Whitney   February 24th, 2012 | 10:13 am

Hell Descent forum poster Twoback spotted these game display cases in a GAME retail store today! I can’t believe the release days are almost here.

Sure this is not much in the way of news but I thought it was neat to finally see the back of the EU box art! I got to say I find it funny that back art of the HD Collection is just filled with Silent Hill 2 concept art and screens. No love for Silent Hill 3 Konami marketing eh?

So far there’s still no official word on the Konami Europe website about Downpour release date outside of March 2012 but the HD Collection is still listed as a March 16, 2012 release. I have a feeling though that with the confirmation of HD Collection delay in the US that the release date will most likely change.

Twoback unfortunately had no luck getting any info from the GAME employees:

I couldnt squeeze any info out of the staff at all, apart from the usual, please keep checking instore and on our website. Game site still says March 16th.

Check Out the New Silent Hill US Splash Page!

Konami has put up and official splash page for the upcoming Silent Hill releases. It’s interesting to note that despite what Amazon says the official HD Collection release date is still listed as March 6, 2012.

New EU Downpour Ad Spotted (and a Release Date Too?)

Posted By: Whitney   February 19th, 2012 | 12:48 pm

Over on the Hell Descent forums Twoback posted two small images from the latest issue of 360 Gamer of their positive Downpour preview and a new ad!

This months issue of 360 gamer has a very encouraging and positive preview of Downpour. It states the game has the potential to be the best entry in the series since SH2 and is miles away from “The gun toting mess that was Homecoming” The article goes on to praise the games deep atmosphere and its return to the more psychological and explorative nature of the earlier titles. Interestingly the preview also cites March 13th as the games release date,so maybe the outlook for Europe isnt as bad as we all expected.

So folks over in Europe could possibly get Downpour the same day as in the US, this is definitely good news! I hope Konami Europe with confirm this date soon.

Want to “Be Buried in Silent Hill”?

Posted By: Whitney   January 25th, 2011 | 1:06 pm

Devin Shatsky, Producer of Silent Hill: Downpour wants Silent Hill fans to submit concept art for creepy burial sculptures to be modeled and included in the graveyard of the upcoming game.

Since Downpour is an original chapter to the Silent Hill series Vatra and Konami would like to see your original artwork. This means they don’t want to see any past Silent Hill characters in your designs…no Pyramid Heads or Harry Masons.

The team will choose six finalists and then the top three will be picked by the fans on the Silent Hill Facebook page. Think you have what it takes? Upload your entry by posting a photo on the Silent Hill Facebook wall.
