So I’ve decided to start my very own podcast here on the Silent Hill Historical Society! With this podcast I will give the rundown of the latest Silent Hill news, general site updates and my thoughts on the series. I’m hoping to make this a bi-weekly podcast if there’s enough news…if not at least once a month!

In this first episode I make my introductions and discuss the plethora of news received just over the past 2 weeks: My Downpour and Book of Memories Preview, the new HD trailer and screens, the confirmation of release dates and even some Revelation updates from Michael J Bassett.

So it was my birthday last week (Jan 5) and my friend Cj from Rely on Horror sent me a little present and I just got it in the mail today…

He made me a Stanley Stanley Coleman stalker journal and it’s pretty awesome XD and he even slipped in a Deadly Premonition reference (the page with “FK”) 🙂

Stanley is an unseen character from Silent Hill 3 who left Heather increasingly creepy notes from his diary over Brookhaven hospital. Now I know what Heather felt like…

Cj from Rely on Horror sent me Silent Hill on Blu-ray for Christmas and I suggested that we watch it together over Skype to break in the new Blu-ray player I got from Santa. Well one thing lead to another and we thought it would be fun to record our dialogue talking over the movie and we asked Michael from Silent Haven and Austin from Silent Hill Experienced to join us in the fun ( Destiny couldn’t make it 🙁 ).

All you have to do is play the file, wait for our cue on when and where to start the film, and then follow with us as we talk about each scene and make jokes.

Early in December I attended a Konami press event in San Fransisco and had the opportunity to try Silent Hill Downpour, Silent Hill Book of Memories and the HD Collection and talk with Silent Hill producer Tomm Hulett. I already played through most of the HD Collection back in September so I used my time to play-through Downpour and briefly try Book of Memories. Unfortunately, unlike my Downpour hands on preview last September, I could not record myself playing so no accompanying video preview this time around!

Lots of fun!

Hi Guys! I’m back from the event and I had a lot of fun! Unfortunately, there’s an embargo until January so I can’t post any real details about new things I saw until then… but in general terms: I played some Downpour and a very little bit of Book of Memories but never got a chance to sit down and play HD collection again. I also wasn’t allowed to record any video footage of myself playing.

I still love Downpour and I’m really itching to play more…why isn’t it March already?! Boo! As for Book of Memories it’s definitely a different experience (but that was expected from the screens and videos)! The Vita was a lot larger than I expected and I was unsure of controls but I still had fun. I wish I had longer to play the game but from what little I saw my interest was definitely piqued!

Look for a more in-depth write up early January! 🙂
