More sites stating a delay in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories release from Late November to the end of December

Posted By: Whitney   October 12th, 2009 | 12:47 pm

Still no word from Konami on the delay (although I did make a post on their forum asking about it hopefully I’ll get a response!) but several online retailers have updated their information and are showing delays:

Gamestop.com : Shows December 8, 2009 for all platforms

Gamefly.com : Shows November 26, 2009 for the Wii and December 31, 2009 for the PS2 and PSP

Walmart : shows November 24, 2009 for the Wii and December 25, 2009 for the PS2 and PSP

Meanwhile Toys R Us and Amazon still state the November 3, 2009 release

I hope Konami clarifies this soon!

Posted By: Whitney   October 8th, 2009 | 9:43 am

Well this is pretty awesome! In addition to their portal website Konami now has an official Silent Hill Shattered Memories blog 🙂 With articles and new tidbits by Tomm Hulett. It’s great to get an insiders view on Silent Hill’s production and promotion. I know I’ll be checking daily!

P.S. Some new screens as well!

P.P.S. According to Tomm there’s a new vocal song “When You’re Gone” I can’t wait to hear it!

Oh and there was a new update made! Think Climax doesn’t care what the fans think? Well you are wrong! 🙂 Looks like Tomm Hulett scopes out the Silent Hill Shattered Memories section on the Silent Hill Heaven forums :

Which is really cool!

Release Date confusion

Posted By: Whitney   October 6th, 2009 | 12:54 pm

UPDATE: Gamestop.com states the game release is now 12/08/09…no official word from Konami but I’ll keep you posted!

There seems to be a lot of people confused about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories release date and there’s been so many wildly different dates stated all over the net. Why is there so much confusion? It stems from the game’s release being delayed:

Back in the summer we were informed that:

Oct 6, 2009 = original strategy guide release date
Oct 13, 2009 = original game release date

When September rolled around some sites began to state a new release time frame and and as far as I know seem to be correct:

Oct 26, 2009 = current strategy guide release date
Nov 3, 2009 = current US/UK(?) game release date

So a lot of people don’t realize the game has been delayed and assume the old dates are true or various game stores haven’t updated their release dates. I’m not not sure if this delay is just for the US and UK but I’m pretty sure if it was delayed here it’s probably delayed in other areas as well…if not well sucks that US and the UK have to wait!

X-Play: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Gameplay Exclusive

Posted By: Whitney   October 5th, 2009 | 5:11 pm

A quick post at the moment! X-play has an exclusive new look at a new Silent Hill Shattered Memories level and a new interview with Tomm Hulett. I haven’t seen it myself since I’m still at work (an hour to go!) but I figure I would at least post the link up. I’ll post more after I get home 🙂

EDIT: Woo finally watched it! I liked what I’ve seen so far. I amazed at how well the voice acting is it’s pretty realistic in my opinion. I also liked how they showed Harry sucessfully hiding and how he can briefly put gaps between him and his pursuers. From what I watched his escape didn’t seem that linear which I think is also really good. I can really see myself getting lost trying to escape. I know people are hammering away about how lame the monsters look at the moment but I think we will be pleasantly surprised when the game comes out. I firmly believe we keep seeing these fleshy ones in everything so the surprise won’t be ruined! After watching these videos I’m just more pumped for the game to come out!

Things learned:

– Bears are kinda creepy even if they don’t *do* anything
– Harry visits some cabins in Lake Toluca…looks like someone wasn’t having a very good vacation for a number of reasons.
– I wonder if Harry just stopped and gave those guys a hug they desperately seem to want they would leave him alone? 😉
– Harry receives clues on his cellphone and can interact with various supporting characters. Even though the phone seemed rather odd when I first heard about it I’m really warming up to it. Somehow I find hearing people’s voices from the past is a little more chilling than just reading a note. It would be really cool if the phone started to capture EVP quality voices! Overall I definitely felt more like an intruder to a private moment listening in than then I did reading reading notes!

X-Play: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Gameplay Exclusive

X-Play brings you an exclusive look at a new level of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories!

On tonight’s X-Play, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Producer Tom Hewlett talked about Shattered Memories, the game’s storyline, how it uses the flashlight and phone during gameplay and the game’s ability to build psychological player profiles based on in-game decisions.

However, you should hear what he has to say yourself by watching the video below. Then hit the cut and check out exclusive, uncut gameplay footage of a never before scene level of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories!
