Learn just a little bit about the people that live in Konami’s frightening town.

November 12, 2009 – Konami’s Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has long been one of our most anticipated games. Thankfully, we’ve already got an early copy and have been playing it every night — and yes, just in case, we’ve donned diapers. You can never be too careful, we always say. For the record, it’s just as scary as we could’ve hoped. Complementing the frights and mood is a unique cast of characters, at least some of which Konami was kind enough to profile alongside a press release announcing the release date. We’ve provided descriptions verbatim as well as screenshots and artwork for some of the characters.

Harry Mason (hey he has a weapon!)
While driving through the spooky streets of Silent Hill, Harry’s car skids on a patch of ice and veers off the road into a ditch. Upon waking from the crash, he realizes his daughter Cheryl is missing and sets out into the dark, freezing night to find her.

Cheryl Mason
Harry’s daughter who has mysteriously disappeared, causing him to brave the streets of Silent Hill. She’s a cheerful girl who loves her father very much.

Cybil Bennett
After years on the police force, Cybil has seen a lot of crazy things, but she’s not quite sure what to make of Harry Mason. She decides early on to keep an eye on him, and their paths cross repeatedly.

Dr. K
A friendly, relatable therapist who shows up periodically to evaluate the player. His therapy sessions consist of interactive psychological test which players will actually take part in.

Michelle
Michelle meets Harry at her High School reunion, however he doesn’t remember it. Tired of waiting to meet up with her boyfriend, she decides to aid Harry in finding his daughter.

Dahlia
A tough, street-wise young girl, Dahlia seems to know quite a bit about Harry. The fact that he can’t remember anything about her confuses Dahlia as much as it does Harry.

Lisa (yay!)

Lisa is a nurse at Alchemilla Hospital. Although she’s young, lines of experience are already evident on her face. Despite her cynicism, Harry finds himself protective of Lisa and offers to lend her a hand.

Siliconera.com: Konami plans on Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Wii Release in December

Posted By: Whitney   November 11th, 2009 | 4:58 pm

The PSP and PS2 release dates are still unknown but according to Siliconera:

Konami plans on releasing the Wii version on the second week of December. Games typically come out on Tuesdays. So, we’ll take that as December 8. Unfortunately, we don’t have a dates for the PSP or PlayStation 2 versions which are due later.

I really hope this is true 🙂 I just got a wii and I’m itching to play 🙂 Hopefully Konami will make a news post regarding the release some time soon!

SH:SM Official Blog Update – Fog and Candy Corn

Posted By: Whitney   November 5th, 2009 | 5:25 pm

Yay looks like we have a new update from the Official SH:SM blog…I didn’t think we would have one this week considering there wasn’t an update on Tuesday. Nothing really Silent Hill: Shattered Memories related this time around. Instead Tomm talked about how the Konami employee’s celebrated Halloween and various Halloween related game lists that appear on the internet 🙂 Near the end Tomm brought up the idea of a “Let’s Play Along journey through the original Silent Hill leading up to the release of Shattered Memories.” I think it’s a fun idea myself! Make sure to let him know what you think and leave a comment on the blog!

Always On My Mind – Site related question! Should there be a forum?

Posted By: Whitney   November 4th, 2009 | 10:50 am

Hey Guys I was thinking of adding a forum! Do you think it’s a good idea or do you think the news page is enough?

[edit] I was primarily thinking about adding a forum so when the is released there would be a central area for people to give their reviews or make note of changes in their gameplay. 🙂 It would mainly be a SH:SM forum!

Possible Alessa Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Character artwork? [Edit: it’s not!]

Posted By: Whitney   November 3rd, 2009 | 11:28 pm

[Edit!]

The awesome Piece0fSheet666 tracked down the pictures initial source, a concept artist Joy Lee who I assumed worked on the 2006 PSP title Silent Hill Experience!

According to google alerts and a recent topic started by Jecht, a Silent Hill Heaven forum member, two bloggers claim to know which monsters and characters are making a reappearance in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. After taking a quick peek I was highly suspicious of their information since many character art and cgi from the original game are primarily shown…however there was something that did pique my interest:

alessa-silent-hill-shattered-memories-character-artwork

Could this really be Alessa from SH:SM? The pose on the swing is reminiscent to the Cheryl on a swing picture…but so far it’s only appeared on these two blog sites so it could just be fan art.

What do you guys think?

Is 01/12/10 now the US the release date? Who knows…Konami does but their lips are still sealed!

Posted By: Whitney   November 2nd, 2009 | 9:54 pm

According to Gamestop.com and Nintendo.com the wii version of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has a ship date of 12/08/09; however, if you order the PS2 or PSP version on Gamestop.com and place them in your shopping cart the ship date changes to 1/12/10. Sadly there’s still no word from Konami but I’m guessing it doesn’t look good for an ’09 release of the game here in the states..unless Konami plans to sell the wii version a month or so before the other two 🙁
