It’s official Silent Hills isn’t happening
Posted By: Whitney April 27th, 2015 | 10:09 amEarly this morning Konami gave an official statement to Kotaku regarding Silent Hills fate:
In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements.
Sad news to be sure, but hey at least now it’s officially canned.
Now we know…
Such a shame, the P.T. demo stirred up excitement from fans and the general public alike and showed a promising new direction for the series. I guess at this point all we can do now is wait and see what Konami has in store though, if I’m honest, despite Konami’s assurances, the fate of the series continuing seems rather grim to me.
Oh well. The hype was nice while it lasted eh?
If you haven’t already be sure to download the P.T. demo off PSN before it’s taken down April 29,2015, it is well worth the playthrough and imagine what could have been…

I like this flim
Konami is in dire need of an intervention.
there is a petition online to try and get silent hills back in development with Kojima. i’m not saying it will help or do anything but at least it’s something. it’s time for silent hill fans to make their voices heard. as someone who loves this franchise as much as any other SH fan, please help and lend your voice to ours.

Recording one tomorrow 🙂
I bought a PS4 mainly for Silent Hills it’s a big disappointing to hear Konami canned it. The P.T. demo showed a lot of promise. I can’t understand what Konami are doing at all it seems they’re doing their best to bury themselves and their previously good reputation. It wouldn’t surprise me if Konami are absent from E3 next month, after all what the hell are they going to show? Konami still hold the IP rights of Silent Hill so it could be years until any new project is revealed. I hope if a new Silent Hill is in development Devin Shatsky is on board again as I loved Silent Hill: Downpour it’s possibly the last great Silent Hill title too bad Tomm Hulett is working for WayForward now and Brian Gomez is with Disney, I believe most of the Vatra developers have split up and working for other game companies now. I know it probably wouldn’t happen but I wouldn’t mind if Konami approached Double Helix again for another shot of the series I would love to see what they would come up with for and 2nd time. What’s the alternative? Konami beg key developers of Team Silent to come back and work on the next SIlent Hill game? as great as that sounds it will probably never happen. If Konami is done with Silent Hill I can only hope the top bosses see sense and sell the IP to a company that’s genuinely passionate about the series.
