15 years ago today my favorite video game series started with the release of Silent Hill on the Playstation in the United States! It’s amazing how long this franchise has come with 8 (core) games, several spin offs and two movies!

This franchise has had its ups and downs, at which points will vary from fan to fan, and I’m glad I was able to enjoy the ride right from the beginning.

There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t find myself interacting in some small way with the fandom. My love for the series has given me great reasons to travel, inspired me to write, review and even make podcasts, and most importantly through the mutual love of the games many wonderful friendships have started. Silent Hill is so ingrained in my day-to-day life (“Oh I need to write a newspost!” “ooo I must share that on the SHHS facebook” “I have to record a podcast that day!”) that I can’t imagine what my life would have been like if I didn’t pick up the first game 15 years ago.

Thanks for the memories, friendships, and the constant inspiration… Happy birthday Silent Hill!
