Post Questions Here for the Silent Hill Revelation Podcast Recording Oct 27!
Posted By: Whitney October 27th, 2012 | 6:08 pmHey guys! I’m recording a podcast tomorrow with Cj, Blake and my sister Sarah about the Silent Hill Revelation movie. This will pretty much be all my thoughts and review of the movie. The podcast will most likely be full of spoilers, so if you have ay questions you would like us to answer regarding the movie (or anything else) leave them in the comments below!
Having not yet seen the movie I can’t really ask anything specific. Will listen to the podcast on Thursday. Hear you then.
What were your favourite/least favourite things about the film?
What was the scene that made you puke, Sarah?
I hope I’m not late! D:
Well, I’m finally back to the page, after a long rest from my computer 🙂 Good thing I found this, hopefully still at time!
Well, I would like to hear your opinions about some plot things, like:
!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!
-What is exactly Claudia’s monster form
-Why is Leonard the other half of the Seal
-Why did the full incarnation of Alessa split once again before Sharon returned to the real world
-What did probably happened to the School Bus scene and the scene with Rose and Heather talking (deleted? extra content for the Blu Ray release?)
-You all know I love her!!! So, maybe a little about Claudia’s film version? 😀 Like, how was her new relationship with Vincent and Heather?
Thanks Whitney! (:
My question to you guys is: Overall, how did you feel about SH:R? Do you feel it will appeal newcomers to the series or push them away? Also, was the 3D something necessary for this movie to stand on its own?
Personally, I was very disappointed with the film. I could go on and on, but this is coming from a SH fan who was optimistic during the production. Overall I felt they tried to make it more mainstream than the first but didn’t succeed. It felt rushed and at times lazy. This is just my opinion, but I’d like to hear yours too.
1) What are your thoughts about the structure of the movie?
2) Did you appreciate how the monsters were inserted in the movie?
3) Which character did you liked the most on screen, and which one the worse?
4) What is your appreciation about how the mythology of Silent Hill was inserted in the movie?
5) Do you appreciate the ending?
6) Do you appreciate the link between the first movie and the second one?
Well well, I’m sure you’ll find at least one question you want to answer in these, haha.
Donald, I feel the same way. Seriously. And I was an optimistic SH fan too during the production, so yeah. :/
What did you think of the nods at the end of the movie? (Travis and Murphy)
What would you have done differently to the film?
What route do you think a new installment should go?
And if you could say anything to Bassett, what would it be?
Oh also, one more.
If there were to be another silent hill film, who would be your dream director?
Was the bus at the end actually supposed to be a nod to Downpour?
What do you think of the first movie as a whole? (I personally think it’s gorgeous and very under-rated.)
!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!
Whitney,
In the fog world scenes, do you like the 3D effect that made the ashes appear to fall in front of the screen? I think it’s awesome as it felt like the entire theater being filled with falling ashes, just like what the fog world should be.
How do you like the Happy Burger scene? I personally don’t like it. The patrons should be eating cooked dog meat instead of raw human flesh, and the movie shouldn’t make it obvious that it’s dog meat until Heather gets into the kitchen and finds the remains of the cooked dog with a cooked key in it.
I just seen the movie on Saturday the 27th and I have to say for myself that I loved it alot. I’am a big SH fan as well and it made sence to me very well. Any game movie that has ever been made they HAVE to change things in it. The 3D was Awesome. It was not that scary but I’am fine with that. If people played all the games they would understand things about the movie better. To me it looks like there will be one more maybe like DownPour. But all in all to me it was really great.
Semi-Spoilers will follow:
1. What are your thoughts on the final fight scene between the two monsters? Does one of them fighting for the protagonist feel reminiscent of Nemesis aiding Alice in Resident Evil: Apocalypse? How does this fare for the SH franchise?
2. If Hollywood plans to make another movie then where would you like to see the next movie? As an adaption of a previous game such as Downpour for example or would you like to see a completely original story?
3. Given Claudia’s relation to Christabella and Dahlia does that make a certain love plot between Heather and Claudia’s son incestuous?
I don’t have a question really, but I was wondering if any of you remember reading the initial draft from 2004 of the first Silent Hill film. One of the scenes that was cut took place in a mannequin factory and I believe that Bassett might have drawn inspiration from it for this movie. (http://www.silenthillmemories.net/shm/downloads/silent_hill_script.pdf, pg. 72-73, “A CREATURE FORMED OF MANNEQUIN LEGS”).
Might just be a coincidence. Thought it was interesting though. Looking forward to the podcast! 🙂
@Smiley : Unfortunately the podcast was already recorded when you submitted your question 🙁 but I will answer it here:
1) My thoughts, I thought the fight scene was stupid and yes it reminded my of the Alice and Nemesis battle!
2) We actually talked about this in the podcast but I would love to see SH4 as a movie, Downpour or an original idea!
3) I assumed Christabella called Dahlia “sister” in the religious sense in the first movie, not that they were actual blood relations. I didn’t even think of them being related until people started commenting that Heather and Vincent might be related!
@Dorito: No I haven’t but I will check it out now 🙂
@Whitney I agree. I think Dahlia and Cristabella being “sisters” was more in an organized religion sense, and not literal. They are cultists after all.
