Look like Silent Hill fans in Australia will have to wait a bit longer to play SH:SM 🙁

Konami’s reimagining of the original Silent Hill, which was released in North America late last year, has finally been given a firm release date for Australia.

The delay is partly the result of Konami finding a new distributor in this country. They’ve now signed up with Mindscape, who’ll also be looking after the release of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow later in the year.

For now though, the focus is on Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, the Wii, PS2 and PSP remake makeover of the first game in the series.

All three versions will hit Australian retail on March 5.

I wonder if it’s the same for UK? I’ve had SH:SM pre-ordered on Amazon since August, and on Saturday I received an email from them saying that it wouldn’t be released until March o.O Just a bit of info for you there Whitney! 😀

  2. Another date fail… The delays and randomness in these dates is crazy. So ’till now we knew for Jan 12 for PS2/PSP in US. Then it is 19, and maybe that’ll change again too? I wouldn’t be surprised after all this. At first December …something (1 or 10 or end of Dec) or maybe the first few days of the new year (Jan [12]) in Europe turned to Feb 5, then a german report mentions a March 5 release for Europe and then it is confirmed by only one site that it will eventually be Feb 5 and is also “confirmed” by other major gaming sites which actually didn’t ask Konami like the first source said they did but just reproduced the news, something which I couldn’t really blame them for but it creates an
anticipation which will be pwned again if what ‘Go-Ask-Alice’ says is going to be applied. [It was Feb 5 in the UK for some time now] So the german info might have been (at least partially) true. Now the Australian delay which has an excuse but still suckz. And what does ‘is “partly” the result…’ mean exactly? And now a chance that it will also be March for Europe. I can’t see a reason why this delay should also apply in Europe? Not to mention the October/November delays and the gap in previews/reviews/dates of the different versions… I would continue ranting but I’ll keep it to myself ’cause it’s personal views. 😡
I don’t know maybe I just think of it too much and give it unnecessary attention and time? Still, it sucks anticipating something and it getting messed up so many times. 😐
Oh, and sorry Whitney if the post is not proper or looks spam-like/attacking/whatever but I had to get it out of me. 🙂
