Some bad news Konami confirms a (European only?) February 2010 release
Posted By: Whitney October 13th, 2009 | 9:45 amWell I arrived to work to see some bumming news from my Google Alerts:
Konami has confirmed that SH:SM will be out in February according to:

“It’s out in Feb, but has never been officially confirmed as anything else. A few retail sites put a loose November date on it, but we never officially gave it a date until recently,” a rep told us. Although the game was widely expected out this winter.

Retailers with autumn dates are guesstimating, the publisher explained.
The clarification arrives as US shops shift the Wii, PS2 and PSP scarer around like a naughty prisoner. Kotaku reports that Shattered Memories now lurks in either early December or sometime around New Year’s Eve.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a remake of the first Silent Hill game, but as time has passed and technology improved, there will naturally be some adjustments. Wiimote controls are the most obvious, but there are also extra clues, characters and story-paths to take.
Our Silent Hill: Shattered Memories gamepages below have more information.
And thanks to Jark85 from the Silent Hill Chronicles for this additional source 🙂

The latest title in the long-running survival-horror series is actually a “re-imagining” of the original Silent Hill game, and it will be unleashed on the Wii, PSP and PS2.
UK developer Climax are behind this recreation, and we hear a digital version of the action title will be released for the PSP Go, too.
We’ll be taking a closer look at this as February nears.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that all these talk about the European release…does that mean it’s still December for the US? I’ll post anything if I hear something about the US date.
IGN.com posts a report based on what CVG earlier reported:

Europe release now February 2010, North American date still cloudy.

October 13, 2009 – Several retailers have pushed back the release date for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Konami’s remake of the first Silent Hill title.
Both Gamestop and GameFly have moved the planned November release date back a month to December, though neither date appear to be set in stone.
Konami told CVG last night the title is now shipping in February 2010 across Europe.
“It’s out in Feb, but has never been officially confirmed as anything else. A few retail sites put a loose November date on it, but we never officially gave it a date until recently,” Konami said.
No word yet on what this means for the North American versions, but we’ll keep you updated.
Again, Konami Digital Entertainment- America has not set an external release date. December is a mere estimate from a single retailer.
It was stated through interviews that a early November North American release of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was to transpire. This tentative November launch likely is no longer to hold up, as the publisher (Konami) has not assigned an official release date to retailers.
Going to go, curl up in a ball. Until February.
Yep still no word on the US date..I hope we get it this year! Come on Tomm this is a perfect update for the blog 🙂
noooooooooooo not in february, its still so long!
I hope we get it before February -_-‘
