Personally I think it should of rank much higher on the list (top 20’s at least!) considering how much the tile resonates with fans after all these years. It’s personally my second favorite Silent Hill title. Sure the gameplay could be better but I rank it above Excite Bike!
Lots of new screens and info on Silent Hill Book of Memories from E3! Maybe a trailer? The download link for that isn’t working at the moment. Hopefully that will work later today. (Got it now) About time we got some sort of info…I was getting worried with all the delays Konami wasn’t going to promote this game at all with anything until release day.
Konami has released TONS of screenshots. We see shots of the updated menus and character customization screens as well as SPOILER shots of bosses and different worlds. I’ve uploaded them all but look at your own risk. Looks like your character can wield a Great Knife and the Butcher’s knife as well and has the option wear Princess Heart ear muffs which is nice fan service.

Full Game Description:
Book of Memories is an all-new game in the Silent Hill series, with a unique premise and storyline. The story begins with a strange book that is received, inside that book is your entire life story to this point, everything that’s ever happened to you; all of your memories. You discover that by altering what’s written… you can actually change the past. You can write your own ideal history.
Book of Memories is a departure for the series, with a focus on co-operative multiplayer action rather than traditional Psychological Horror. Players can work together as they explore several different Otherworlds, solving puzzles and defeating creatures to advance through the Nightmares and uncover the truth behind the Book of Memories. Scare rooms, limited resources, and dark atmosphere all return—but in a gameplay package specifically designed to take advantage of the PlayStation Vita.
Book of Memories is a macabre celebration of the best that Silent Hill has to offer. Players will encounter items and Creatures culled from over a decade of Silent Hill lore, including a special someone who walks softly and carries a gigantic knife.

I got the heads up from Milan Records that Daniel Licht will have a live show at Largo in LA on June 10. He will perform the music of Dexter and cues from Silent Hill Downpour and Books of Memories. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (the voice of Silent Hill) will even join him on stage!
The tickets are only available for purchase online here:

Description: Don’t miss An Evening of Music from Dexter Composer Daniel Licht w/VERY Special Guests on Sunday, June 10. Tickets are available ONLINE ONLY. Doors open for drinks at 7pm, Showtime 8pm.
The night will be a celebration of the macabre when Daniel performs selections from his original music for Dexter using a musical palette of classical orchestrations combined with unusual sound elements. Daniel creates the score for Dexter by blending the sounds of wine glasses, duct tape, surgical tools, metal saws and scalpels with bone percussion instruments, world rhythm instruments and traditional instruments played in conventional and unconventional ways; all of these elements will be incorporated into the performance.
The concert will be introduced by award winning actor Michael C. Hall (Dexter). Also featured will be Dexter Main Title Composer Rolfe Kent with performances of his iconic main title theme and other scores. Other highlights include the premiere of Daniel’s music from the upcoming video game, “Silent Hill – Book of Memories,” performed by the Silent Hill series’ vocalist, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. The concert will also feature surprise guest performances.
So word around the web is that Book of Memories is delay yet again. Still no word from Konami though I hope we will have some official word soon. I would like to point out however that Konami never officially said their would be a May release, it was only the retailers, the company officially only gave a vague Spring 2012 release on their site.
If this new delay rumor is true it is disappointing. I really hope we will get some sort of press release about the delay this time around from Konami. I’m all for delaying a game if it will make it better (lord knows HD Collection and Downpour needed more time for the technical issues!) just be sure to let the fans know! Is that so hard?
Due to unfortunate circumstances, the franchise’s debut on the PS Vita, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, has been delayed to October of this year. We deeply apologize for this delay and hope to further update you on the development soon. Thank you for your continued patience.
Now this is VERY GOOD NEWS. I just got this press release that says there are upcoming patches for both HD Collection and Downpour!! The patch will fix the frame rate issues and audio syncs in the HD Collection and the auto save issues is Downpour
There will be patches for both Playsation 3 and Xbox 360 systems!

So…I was asked to write an article for 1up.com about the 5 things Silent Hill Downpour did right.
To be honest I was flabbergasted and intimidated that such a big video game website would ask someone like me to write this for them. Sure I write on my own websites but this was so different. This article would be seen by a far bigger audience and I was so afraid of fucking it up. Well in the end my enthusiasm for Downpour and the support of family and friends convinced me to give it a shot! I pretty proud of the reasons I came up with. I hope the positives I saw while playing will convince other long time and even new fans to give this title a shot despite the questionable technical issues! I hope you guys will check it out and let me know what you think!
Open Road has acquired U.S. rights to videogame-based sequel “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D” and plans to release the psychological horror pic around Halloween 2012.
The follow-up to 2006’s “Silent Hill,” which opened No. 1 at the U.S. box office and took in nearly $100 million worldwide, stars Adelaide Clemens, Carrie-Anne Moss, Malcom McDowell and “Game of Thrones” thesps Kit Harington and Sean Bean.
“Silent Hill: Revelation 3D” will be released wide October 26. Bean, Deborah Kara Unger and Radha Mitchell return from the original film.
In the sequel, directed by Michael J. Bassett, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run from mysterious and dangerous forces. She discovers she isn’t who she thinks she is, leading her deeper into a demonic world.
Vidgame maker Konami’s Silent Hill franchise has spawned a comicbook series, graphic novels, and merchandise over the past decade.
Another video by Levito! I think every fan should watch 🙂 Tomm definitely deserves some props since he’s such a nice guy, saved Silent Hill Homecoming, and is willing to talk to fans like you and me!
In this fifth episode I’m joined once again by Cj from Rely on Horror and two new guests Silent Hill LPers: Voidburger and Bob to discuss our thoughts on Downpour
This is a long one folks but full of SPOILERS! I hope you all enjoy 🙂
Silent Hill Downpour is the eighth core game in the Silent Hill series and it follows Murphy Pendleton as he tries to escape the horrors of the town after his prison-transfer bus crashes nearby. This is the second game released on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 systems and was promised to be a true return to the form and styles of the Team Silent era of games. I had very high hopes for the title after two hands on previews and I’m happy to report that despite some technical flaws the game has lived up to the hype and is one of the best post-Team Silent games to date!
Please note while I do not spoil the story there is a very minor gameplay spoiler for an optional sidequest!
