Confirmed! Deborah Kara Unger is Dahlia and Kit Harington is Vincent

Posted By: Whitney   March 27th, 2011 | 3:54 pm

Michael Bassett Director of Silent Hill Revelation has updated his blog and discusses how filming went this past week in Galt, Cambridge Ontario.

He was a little bummed about the weather delaying the shooting but is pleased with what his got so far. As for all the set pictures popping up on the internet he said security was pretty much no existent so he wasn’t surprised. It’s a little annoying but he’s not too worried since people are seeing things out of context.

The big news is that Deborah Kara Unger is returning as Dahlia and Kit Harington is Vincent IS the Vincent we know and love from Silent Hill 3. Bassett had this to say about Kit playing Vincent:

As for Kit Harington as Vincent. Well, I knew that would get you all fired up. I’ve never made any secret that this is going to be an adaptation of the game and not a slavish reproduction. So for me I can say that I always found Vincent in the game a fascinating but ultimately redundant character. He’ seemed to me to have no purpose in the narrative other than to offer a counterpoint view of what the Order/Claudia are doing. He is, if you like, the acceptable face of the zealots. His ideas and dialogue are interesting and I wanted to preserve some of that but I also wanted to use him in a more dynamic and interesting way for the film narrative. How it plays out in the movie, you’re simply going to have to wait and see but I don’t think it’s going to be exactly what any of you think. (or maybe it is. I don’t know.) Will some of you hate it? Absolutely. Because it is different. But will others maybe think it’s a neat twist on what you would expect? I hope that too.

I definitely interested to see what this new and younger Father Vincent will bring to the movie. How about you guys?

(Rumor) Kit Harington is Vincent Carter in Silent Hill Revelation

Posted By: Whitney   March 25th, 2011 | 7:48 pm

Recently local resident of Cambridge Ontario Canada, Kassie, sent in an update of shooting progress in Cambridge to Silent Haven and had this to say about Kit Harington,

“Confirmed on set is Adelaide Clemmens (playing Heather Mason) and Kit Harington (playing Vincent Carter, I confirmed this by looking over a call list on set)

So it looks like Kit a Vincent and not Stanley liked we hoped in the last Silent Hill Experienced podcast! But is he the Vincent from Silent Hill 3? As far as I know he didn’t have a last name. No official word from the Silent Hill Revelation Crew yet but it looks like this rumor does hold some water!

Some more Silent Hill Revelation Set Pictures have emerged! Silent Hill Community forum member Piece0fSheet666 linked to Steve Robert Delahunty’s large facebook gallery of his visit to the set!

What’s interesting is in at least two shots it looks like someone is wearing a miner outfit from Silent Hill 2006…I wonder if they are making a return in Revelation? Also there’s a nice closeup of a charred body on a pike.

Be sure to stop by his gallery page to see the entire set.

Adelaide Clemens as Heather and SH:R Set Photos [UPDATE]

Posted By: Whitney   March 22nd, 2011 | 4:21 pm

An IMDB forum member Favoritez, who lives in live in Galt, Cambridge Ontario where Silent Hill: Revelation has been filming has snapped some shots of Adelaide Clemens in her full Heather Costume along with some other set/prop pics from outside their store.

Favoritez has this to say about the outdoor sets which include fake facades of Nathan’s Drugs, some Lakeside Amusement Park flyers and even Andy’s Books from Silent Hill Origins:

Currently the entire ground of that square is covered in white/grey ash. Other than that its empty except for those old cars you see and several cloth banners that read “UNBELIEVERS”. On my street there are a large amount of props and nearly all the buildings are now covered with wood planks and rusted metal grates. The props are old rusted wheelchairs, old baby carriages, traditional metal trashcans, bits of wood and metal, and wooden boxes/crates (some with Chinese lettering). I’ll take pictures of them later. The cars and props make it seem like the Silent Hill was abandoned in about the 70’s.

As for Heather’s scene they said:

Basically the scene is her screaming then running across the bridge (which you cant see in the pictures) and then slowly walking towards the mounted camera you do see in the pictures and then stopping right in front of it.

It’s pretty awesome! We really hope Favoritez posts some more soon.

Some additional set photos were on a Century21 site that shows Pete Bowl o Rama and some dead bodies on pikes.

Patrick Tatopoulos Returns for Silent Hill: Revelation

Posted By: Whitney   March 18th, 2011 | 3:52 pm

Patrick Tatopoulos is returning as the creatures and special makeup effect designer and fabrication supervisor in Silent Hill: Revelation. Tatopoulos was responsible for designing Pyramid Head, the Grey Children, the Nurses and the bugs in the original 2006 Silent Hill movie. In a recent interview Tatopoulos revealed he’s begun designing new creatures for the latest film but unfortunately hasn’t given any hints kind of what creatures he’s designed so far.

Knowing Tatopoulos is back on the team is a good sign since the creatures in the original movie were just phenomenal, especially since it was all done with latex and costumes and minimal cgi. If the enemy line up from Silent Hill 3 is anything to go by for the creature roster in Revelation we are looking forward in seeing to see how Tatopoulos pulls off movie versions of Valtiel and the Closers!

Mitchell, Bean and Unger Return in Silent Hill: Revelation

Posted By: Whitney   March 15th, 2011 | 2:36 pm

Don Carmody and Samuel Hadida annouced today that the stars of the original Silent Hill movie, Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, and Deborah Kara Unger will reprise their roles in Silent Hill: Revelation.

Writer and Director Michael Bassett says,”It wouldn’t be the same without some of the original ‘Silent Hill’ cast. Sean, Radha and Deborah’s return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit.”

The film’s cinematographer Maxime Alexandre has this to add,”With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of ‘Silent Hill’ than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them.”

Vincent! I’m guessing that will be Kit Harington’s unnamed role, what about you guys? How do you feel about Rose, Dahlia and Christopher’s return?

Personally I’m hoping they are all short supporting roles, I’m not sure how well Rose and Christopher or Dahlia would fit in the Silent Hill 3 game storyline. As for Bean being Harry, well I’m sure it will grow on me 😉 I’m still wondering if cultists are after him or he had to change his name because they are running from the law?

Also check out the new photo of Mitchell in “Revelation” above! You guys noticed how she’s wearing the outfit from the previous movie? Doesn’t look like Rose never did make it out of Silent Hill…

Bassett Wants Heather Cast Suggestions For Silent Hill Relevation

Posted By: Whitney   November 20th, 2010 | 4:00 pm

Michael J Bassett writer and director of the upcoming Silent Hill: Revelation 3D would like to hear your suggestions for who should play Heather on his blog!

Now before you go hog wild posting your suggestions Bassett has some ground rules:

1) Has to be a known actress with existing credits.

2) Has to be able to realistically play 18 years old. You all know how the character is supposed to look. I’m not slavishly going to be led by the pixels but it’s a good starting point. Talent is more important.

3) Just the name. No long explanations or rationalizations. Just the name. You can include the link to their IMDB page. If they haven’t got an IMDB page then they’re not a candidate.

4) I’m not going to get into any response or comments about the ideas but I will look at everyone. Deviations from the above will be deleted.

So what are you waiting for tell him your ideas!
