Below are a list of all the enemies and bosses from Harry’s Scenario during the Play Novel. I’ve listed how they are described, how they attack and the best methods to get by them in the novel. Luckily neither Harry nor Cybil can die at the hands of the creatures roaming the streets of Silent Hill – cool, eh? How you fight simply prolongs or shortens your encounters in the town!


Common Enemies

Air Screamer
A Pterodactyl-like creature with reddish-brown skin that looks as if it has been burned and belligerent pale green eyes.

Attack Method: Pulls their wings far back and swings them down towards Harry’s neck and can also use their long claws their legs to lift and turn over tables

Best Tactics: When and if given the option shoot the Air Screamer’s wings. This causes the to fall to the floor and Harry uses that opportunity to crush the creature to death with the soles of his feet without wasting handgun ammo in the process.

A confrontation with the Air screamer is completely avoidable in the novel if leave the Cafe to search for the source of the static noise.

Locations during novel:

  • One attacks Harry in Cafe 5-2 after he picks up the radio after the initial static.
  • Several a shown flying in the sky on the streets of Silent Hill immediately after Harry leaves the Cafe
  • a corpse of one is found at Michael Kaufmann’s feet during Harry’s initial meeting with him at the Examination Room in Alchemilla Hospital.

How can Harry kill it in the novel?

  • With a single shot to the body from handgun. (only if you Harry makes an attempt to first hide under a cafe table)
  • a handgun shot to the wing followed by rigorous stomping by Harry.
  • Several handgun shots to the body.
Mumblers
Oddly shaped waist high monsters with long claws.

Attack Method: Gather in small groups around Harry’s waist, use their long claws to pierce Harry’s thighs and then proceed to try and bite various parts of Harry’s body.

Best Tactics: When given the option have Harry push the monster away with his hands before shooting at it. Doing so will cause the Mumbler to fall on it’s face and gives Harry a chance to prepare for multiple head shots without further injury.

Locations during novel:

  • Several attack Harry when he enters or attempts to leave a dark alley he believes Cheryl ran into. This confrontation causes Harry to lose consciousness and wake up later in Cafe 5-2.
  • Several attack Harry in the Midwich School Dark Hallway but after Harry kills them they vanish, where they really there at all?

How can Harry kill it in the novel?: A handgun shot to the head

Puppet Nurse
Grotesque nurses with in white that wield a knife with deadly accuracy and have a voice great enough to shake the entire world. They are stooped over like an old woman due to a large hump on their back that twitches and moves as if it were alive.

Attack Method: Runs directly at Harry and slashes with a knife

Best Tactics: Conflict in unavoidable and the end result is always the same.

Locations during novel: Harry only finds them in the Nightmare Hospital Corridors in Alchemilla Hospital

How can Harry kill it in the novel?

  • Kick to the face followed by several handgun shots and foot stomping.
  • After killing one Harry runs away from any others that appear.

Bosses

Split Head
A mutated looking lizard summoned by or descended from black magic. Has an impenetrable outer shell that looks like mucous membrane and scales like armor. Has a large mouth 4 meters in diameter that opens in all directions and can swallow a man whole.

Attack Method: Swallows Harry whole

Best Tactics: If you want Harry to actually kill the monster find the “Children’s book” in the library instead of a “pharmaceutical book” or a “dictionary of religious science.” Choose to have Harry recall the “Library” during the fight and recite the contents of the fairytale. Doing so will give you the option to shoot the Split Head in the mouth killing it instantly

Locations during novel: In the basement of the Alternate school

How can Harry kill it in the novel?

  • Have Harry recall the fairytale found in the library and shoot it in the mouth
  • Any other option other than the one above will result in Harry getting cornered by the Split Head and quickly eaten but luckily his “death” is not at all permanent.
Twinfeeler
A giant brown caterpillar about 5 meters long that sprays a poisonous green acid from its tusk-covered mouth.

Attack Method: Burrows into the sand to sneak up on Harry then sprays him with poisonous green acid

Best Tactics: If you want Harry chase away the Twinfeeler without injury search the first floor instead of the second after seeing Cheryls image on the tv screens. Searching the first floor allows Harry to find the rifle before the big fight and have an upper hand.

When the Twinfeeler appears have Harry attempt to shoot at it and then run onto the steel plate. When Harry senses the approaching attack have Harry spin and fire the rifle behind. The bullet will go right through the Twinfeeler’s head and scares it away.

Locations during novel: Sandy area on the first floor in the “Town Center” mall

How can Harry kill it in the novel?

  • Harry finds the rifle before the fight (by searching the first floor), stands on the metal plate and shoots the rifle behind him when given the option.
  • Choose any other options other than the one above and Harry will either get acid on his face, arms, or hands before being able to shoot the monster and scare it away.
Floating Stinger
A giant white moth that is the evolved form of the Twinfeeler Harry shot at back at the Town Center.

Attack Method: Circles the sky in search of Harry to spray poisonous acid from its mouth or sting him with its large stinger.

Best Tactics: Have Harry hide and not shoot his rifle immediately. Doing so will save him some ammo.

Locations during novel: Sandy area on the first floor in the “Town Center” mall

How can Harry kill it in the novel?

  • Harry hides behind the water tower and shoots the Float Stinger in the head, wings or abdomen with his rifle.
  • Any option you choose will have the same result.
Puppet Cybil Bennett
A possessed Cybil with glowing red eyes and controlled by a demonic parasite inside her body.

Attack Method: Shoots at Harry with her gun.

Best Tactics: If you don’t want to kill Cybil make sure to find an empty bottle in the kitchen, fill it with the red liquid on the floor of the trashed Directors Office in Alchemilla Hospital and make Harry go to the lighthouse and jump off the roof after Alessa.

Locations during novel: Merry go round at the Lakeside Amusement park

How can Harry kill it in the novel?

  • Spray Cybil with Aglaophotis and exercise the demon parasite from her body restoring her humanity
  • Or Shoot her until she dies.
Incubus
A creature with a head like a bull, green muscles and very large wings released from Alessa after an angry Kaufmann sprays her with Aglaophotis.

Attack Method: Shoots electricity

Best Tactics: Only one tactic available.

Locations during novel: Deepest level of the Otherworld

How can Harry kill it in the novel? : Shoots repeatedly in the body.
