This is just a general updates thread in case I need to explain stuff or announce any delays. I usually update about once a week on Saturdays, barring extreme busy-ness. If I feel like it I'll probably post some thought process stuff for my own amusement so when it's done, I can look back and see where it all went wrong

Just uploaded the Sinner's Sandwich chapter. I like food, probably almost as much as York does, so describing it in frightening detail was fun. I have a ton of ideas mapped out for where the plot is going to go (as well as several suplots that don't actually occur in the game but are based on some of the backstory hinted at by various characters) so I'd say things are going pretty smoothly. It's funny, the amount of excruciating build-up that's been happening prior to the first murder; if this were a real novel I would have probably cut out about 80% of what I've written so far, but it's fanfiction so I assume people are reading it to hang out with the characters moreso than expecting some magnificent work of literature. That's mainly why I'M writing it, anyway.

At any rate it will be good practice for if I ever decide to write something of my own... It'd be awesome to do my own take on the "creepy small town" sub-genre!

I love your story and reading a new chapter is a highlight of my weekends now I can't wait until you delve deeper into York and Emily's relationship

Glad you're enjoying it! It's really weird, I never plan on focusing on particular characters at any one time, but those two seemed to demand more attention than I was giving them. Same with Quint. I'm quite a bit ahead of the curve at the moment and I've even started writing some of the final chapters... It's going to be weird if SWERY ever makes a sequel that flatly contradicts everything I wrote!

Until then though, updates should be pretty steady. More York and Emily coming up, plus Lysander, Jim Green, and many others. Just trying to delay the inevitable...

Chapter 42 up. The lyrics of the song in this chapter were meant to set something up for the next part, but they came off as looking like some weird counterpoint to York and Emily's relationship in this one. Completely unintentional, I assure you! I added them in after I'd written everything else and it all kind of fit together in the end.

Zach also starts coming into his own, finally. I always intended for his presence to become gradually more stronger as the story went on, and this seemed like a good opportunity for that to happen.
