It Takes Six Minutes to Rifle Through this Lady’s Silent Hill Collection
Okay this really isn’t any official Silent Hill news but I thought I would share my new collection video:
There’s an official Konami Style Silent Hill: Homecoming Bogeyman resin statue up for pre-order in Japan (which is a little little strange considering the Homecoming game was never published in that region.) The Bogeyman statue along with the Pyramid Head and Valtiel statues released several months back makes this Konami’s third official Silent Hill monster statue release to date.
According to the Konami Style website, Bogeyman will release on May 5 with a mighty expensive retail price of 29,400 yen (about $357 USD)! For those outside of Japan who wish for a Bogeyman of their very own, no need to fret, he is also up for pre-order over at Mio Boutique but with a bit of a markup for 31,500 yen (about $382). Want to own a piece of Silent Hill history? Now’s your chance! The Play For Japan campaign, a video game industry initiative to raise money for earthquake and tsunami relief in Japan, has put Akira Yamaoka’s guitar for auction!
Silent Hill Fans! You’re bidding on an extremely special guitar. This Yamaha APX-15FM acoustic electric guitar was purchased by Akira Yamaoka, producer and composer of the Silent Hill series of games, shortly before he began work on the first Silent Hill game. Akira composed the first soundtrack on this guitar, and then used it to compose every Silent Hill soundtrack he worked on thereafter. The SOUL of Silent Hill resides within this guitar. There’s a high possibility that it’s haunted!
The guitar also comes with two effects amps used while making the game soundtracks; a Line 6 FB4 and a Line 6 POD. Akira says that using these amps you can recreate any sound from the Silent Hill series!
This guitar was also used by Akira at the Video Games Live series of concerts!
When we asked Akira if he was willing to put his Silent Hill ‘mojo’ up for auction, he replied that it was a small thing compared to the losses the people of Touhoku suffered due to the earthquakes and tsunamis.
The winning bidder will also receive a personalized autograph on the guitar from Akira.
Truly, this is a special, sentimental auction, and it would make a wonderful addition to any musician or Silent Hill fan’s collection. Don’t miss out on a chance to own a piece of gaming history!

Konami is releasing the entire Silent Hill soundtrack collection in Japan March 16,2011! This is a must buy for long time fans of the series. This set retails for 14,700 yen which is about $181 and is available outside of Japan for pre order through several import stores (Play Asia | CD Japan).
